I''ve seen this diamond in person, looks good to me but what is the "crown height?" This diamond comes with an EGL (which raised flags from what I''ve read here) and store wants 22,700. that includes resetting in platinum in current setting and taxes. Should I walk? I think I''m about to get an ulcer looking, too much to take in to consideration!

weight 2.23 ct princess
shape and cut 7.42-7.31 x 5.32 mm

total depth 72.8%
table width 71%
crown heght 8%
pavillion depth 64%
girdle thickness-thin polished

plish very good
symmetry very good

clarity SI1
color grade E
Flourescence None

Crown height is the measurement from the girdle to the table as a percentage (crown% + girdle% + pavillion% = overall depth%). 8% is pretty shallow for a princess, a well cut stone will be at least 10% and probably around 12%. The only red flags about EGL is that they tend to be more lenient in grading color and clarity, by up to two grades. So this E-SI1 could easily be graded G-SI2 by GIA or AGS (or it might still receive E-SI1, it's a roll of the dice). Usually an EGL stone is discounted as compared to similar stone graded by GIA to compensate for this. Compare the cut and price to this stone which is a top notch cut.
