Please help me to choose between these 2 GIA diamonds (2.13 H/VS2 or 1.78 F/VS22)

2.13 H/VS2 (~$21,500 with PS discount)
8.26*8.29*5.12

Cut grade: Excellent
Depth: 61.9%
Table: 55.0%
Crown Angle: 35 degrees
Pavilion Angle: 40.8 degrees
Polish : Exellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: thin to medium
Cutlet: none
Fluorescence: faint
Addition inscription on the GIA report: H&A

1.78 F/VS2 (~ 18,500 with PS discount)
7.87*7.91*4.81

Cut grade: Very Good
Depth: 61%
Table: 55.0%
Crown Angle: 34 degrees
Pavilion Angle: 41 degrees
Polish : Very Good
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: thin, faceted
Cutlet: none
Fluorescence: none
Additional comments: surface graining is not shown

Which one would you choose? I am leaning towards the bigger carat weight, but not sure if H w/ faint fluoro will face up white? Is there a problem with surface graining?

Thank you in advance for all your expert opinions!!!

I''d pick the H myself. Color won''t be a problem and it looks like it''ll be a gorgeous stone.

I am in a similar situation. I think I am going with an H 2.05 ct diamond but wondering if I should up the color too.

I promise that in an ideally cut stone an H won''t look yellow. Promise.

Oops double!

Get the bigger one.

I agree with you but the damn jeweler showed the H next to a D lol and I was like noooooo! Thanks for the info!

With a well cut stone the stone will face up white. Bigger is better!

The H will face up fine, so if you want bigger you could easily go that direction. However, for the price difference I would be tempted to put it into a killer setting and go with the 1.78 since both are still a great size.

Go with the larger H!

the GIA cut grade of very good would concern me.... i would opt for the larger because its cut grade is excellent which would make me feel more secure about its performance. i would always opt for the best possible cut grade.

The 2.13 = 1.6 on the HCA with triple EX, and the 1.78 = 1.3 on the HCA with 2 Ex and 2 VGs.

I think I would go with the 2.13, because with that cut, it should face-up quite white anyway, and the Flouro should help boost the colour a bit. She won't be wearing a 2 ct. D next to the H either, so the colour difference should be virtually indistinguishable.

I can't wait to see what you choose!

Thank you all very much for feedback! I am leaning towards the bigger H color diamond. Just waiting for the idealscope image to make a final decision.

Absolutely without a doubt no question about it I''d go with the H!!!

(Unless of course you have tiny hands and don''t want to go bigger.) I have an H that was also graded an I before it was recut, so I know it''s gotta be a pretty low H, like right on the border of H and I. It shows no tint at all.

No question in my mind, I''d go with the 2.13! However, both sound beautiful...
