Hi guys

I'm planning to purchase this 2.02c G VS2 princess cut with EX polish and EX symmetry (see the attached photo provided by vendor). However i have two concerns about this stone and just wanted to get everyone's opinion on it.

1- The stone has a cloud inclusion in the centre. I can spot it when looking at the photo but will it be eye clean? I mean now that i know where it is, would i still be able to spot it with naked eye if i look close enough?

2- There is a dark X in the middle of the stone. Is that just the way it was photographed or is it an actual dark spot where there is no light return?

Thanks.

Has potential for a generic. Obtain crown height and ASET if possible. Ask vendor if eye clean. X in the middle is leakage.

Looks like a nice cut. The photo is zoomed in like 50 times, so I wouldn't worry about the inclusion. I would reqeust an aset image to see how it performs. Looks like it could be a great stone.

That image is only 15X - 20X at most.

Thanks guys.

Julie, what do you mean by "generic"?

Yeah i also think the image is like 20x.

So the dark X in the middle is definitely leakage? Is that ok or is it something i should be concerned about?

I'm going to ask them for an aset image. I hope they have one.

That wasn't the point. Even so, it's SO far zoomed in that the inclusion may not even be visible IRL.....

Generic would mean just a typical princess cut. It's not a branded cut stone like princess of hearts for ex....but it's still a nice cut. The center may be dark, but again, it's pretty small, and if that's the only problem with this stone, then that's a good thing. The only way to be sure would be to get the aset image. I really wouldn't worry about it especially since you won't notice it when you have it. If it were a bigger dark area then it'd be something to be concerned about. I'd wait to see what the aset looks like.

There you were in the other thread whining about the accuracy of advice that was shared and here you are showing how you can't even get the basics right.

It just happened that this was a VS2 diamond. If it was a SI2 diamond instead, viewing this stone at your "supposedly 50X" magnification would be misleading. It makes a big difference as opposed to telling a poster or any other newbie reading this post that this picture is at 15X-20X magnification. Of course, like what the psdumb said in the other thread, new posters sometimes actually know better than the people replying to threads. Well, it's evident here.

Besides your post being rude, you completely missed the point.....again. Yes, I did notice the diamond is a VS2 which is why I said not to worry about it. I don't understand what the point of your post is other than being rude.

OP - in case I didn't make myself clear the last 2 times, I wouldn't worry about such a small inclusion that was hardly visible in the blow up (however much blown up) picture.
