I took a look at this diamond today. The symmetry under the hearts and arrows viewer was nearly perfect. Ideal scope showed some light leakage but not much. Any thoughts?

Sounds good to me but I cannot see the idealscope image. Have you compare side by side with a better HCA scoring stone.

I was able to put it side by side to a stone with a .5 on the HCA scale and this one performed much better to the naked eye and under an ideal scope. I was also able to pick this diamond out 3 different times when the jeweler mixed it up with 3 different diamonds. Why is this diamond performing better to the naked eye under an idealscope when the HCA score is 2.5 vs. several stones with lower HCA scores?? the hearts and arrows viewer was near perfect...is the symmetry helping the perfomrance?

Depends.

What are the numbers for the other 2 stones? Are you near or far-sight? How good are the optical symm of the other 2 stones?

The other stones are the same size..both AGS 000...symmetry on the other two stones was not as good un the H&A viewer..hearts and arrows were there but not as "tight" I have 20/20 vision and looked at the stones indoors outdoors. I was just a little suprised when i plugged in the halloway cut advisor to see this stone get a 2.5 bc it looked great in person

Not an expert, just going by what I read here, and 35.2 / 40.9 angles have been addressed. One of the prosumers said that combination was steep / deep which is why it probably did not get a good HCA score.

There is a cheat sheet that many go by which lists parameters for table, depth, crown and pavilion. Others call it too restrictive.

As far as the HCA, people will tell you to go under 2. After that lower is not necessarily better. It is your eyes, under as many different lighting conditions as possible, which should make the final decision.

Thanks for the feedback....the othe thing that i really liked about the stone is that it is an S1 and the inclusion is a feathr that can be fully covered by a prong...therefore once it is set it is basically a vs2 or better. this is a stressfull process!!! thanks for eveyrones help.
