OK, this is embarrassing, but I first posted this yesterday. Then picked up the sapphire from the jewellers (where it has been since the day after I got it 2 months ago) and was so stunned by its beauty, I decided I couldn't possibly part with it. But then I slept on it and realised that (1) I only wear one ring at a time, no necklaces or other jewellery, (2) am getting a different ring and (3) am an extreme minimalist (see other thread!), so... here is it again. Apologies PS..!

As I have it back in my possession, it does mean that I've been able to take a whole load of photos and videos in all different lighting situations, so hopefully this will help anyone interested to see all its "moods". I have been scrupulously honest and tried to show it at its worst as well as best (though its worst is still pretty darn gorgeous). All the videos are on LT link.

Blurb from Loupe Troop copied below:

Beautiful 2.02 carat elongated cushion cut sapphire, light blue, unheated. 7.70 x 6.13 x 4.24mm. Certified by the GIC (Gemmological Institute of Colombo), certificate attached. Originally purchased from Deliqa Gems in Australia, can be seen on their website under "sold" sapphires.

The sapphire is a light blue and appears different depending on the light. I have tried to capture the different views in a series of videos to give the full picture. It is lightly saturated but this combined with the precision cut gives it a beautiful sparkle that rivals my diamond.

Bought for a project but I have gone a different direction. Has never been set. It is hard for me to part with as it's so beautiful but I only wear one ring at a time and rarely wear necklaces, so want it to go to someone who will love and cherish it!

Asking £500 (GBP). UK buyers only please - sorryIMG_20201217_201247762.jpg. I will consider close offers for PSers. If you are local, you are welcome to come for a socially distanced viewing and collection. If not, fully insured Royal Mail Special Delivery is included in the price.

Honestly, (I say this as a terribly fickle person), I'd sleep on it a little longer.

It is such a special stone. I'd hate for you to part with it, only to regret it later. I also think you'd have a really hard time finding another one like it at the price point should you change your mind.

Just a thought.

If I were UK-based, I'd be all over this...

....but against my own desires, would still encourage you to maybe think on it a bit longer. However you know yourself better than anyone, so feel free to ignore the peanut gallery.

Oh yay! I know others were before me in the queue. But consider me in line.

Oh dear Cerulean you are not making my indecisiveness any easier

It is so beautiful but I really do not wear other jewellery. I thought yesterday, I'll make it a pendant, and put on an old necklace this morning to try to get back into wearing them. I was clawing it off my midday!

I would dearly like it to go to a PSer who would love and appreciate it though.

Oh no certainly not trying to make it harder! If you know in your heart of hearts, that you wouldn't wear it - let it go confidently with a fond farewell! I just wouldn't let it go on impulse if you still feel doubt, that's all!

Just joking, I really appreciate your kind words :) I will see if there is any interest and go from there. I know my pool of coloured stone aficionados is limited due to where I am, so let's see if the universe brings along the right owner. ;)2

Oh and @Ladygrey thank you for your lovely message yesterday, I didn't get a chance to reply before PS deleted the thread at my request () but I am so glad you love the OEC, it is such a special diamond and looks wonderful on you. Good luck with the house move!

I am interested, but only in a position to buy it in January.

That color......

Thanks to those who have expressed interest so far. After a bit of research and some excellent advice on my previous thread from @Bron357 , I would be willing to send it internationally to an experienced coloured stone buyer who is willing to take the risk and is aware of any local customs charges etc, using their choice of carrier and insurance. However I would ask that payment is via Paypal Friends and Family. Hope this helps.

Good to hear @MillieLou.
With proper precautions, selling and buying internationally can be trouble free. Living in Australia virtually all my purchases have had to come from the US, the UK or Canada.
selling using Friends and family is risk free.
Buying using Friends and family requires more caution.
If BUYING make sure the seller has a presence here on Pricescope and ask for and pay for Tracked, signed for shipping. Insurance is an additional buyer cost and is optional (I personally never ask for it).
Buyers need to be aware of any customs or taxes that might be payable on their purchase. This is a buyer responsibility.
Sellers need to pack well, send gems only in a hard cased gem jar / container then bubble wrap or “double box”. Don’t send a “tiny” parcel, send a decent size parcel (tiny parcels are more likely lost).
On the customs form it is best to write “vague” descriptions.
For eg. “Blue Crystal for handmade project”. This is true but doesn’t attract unwanted attention.
