First off I must say I have learned more on this site in the past few days than I ever thought imaginable about diamonds!

I started looking at princess cuts in mall stores...now round cuts on PS!

Anyways, down to the business. This is the diamond I am looking at:

My budget is to stay around ~5500 for the stone. I''d like 1 carat, round, and cut most is important to me. SI1 is fine for me as long as I can''t see the inclusion with my naked eye. Also, the whiter the better but I really don''t want to go lower than an H. Prefer G.

I''m a rookie at this so your suggestions are welcome!

Finally, the setting I think I''m going with will be a 6 prong solitaire. I''m unsure of a knife edge or not, platinum or white gold. Her ring size is 5. I don''t have too many hints from her, other than she doesn''t want the ring to be too gawdy...so I''m thinking the classic soliaire.

A 1 ct G SI1 is always a good choice.

Ask JA for Ideal Scope and the GIA report, but it looks like it''s going to be a fireball!

Well it looks great from the bit of info we have and the pic, ask for the crown and pavilion angles or better yet a copy of the report and an Idealscope image, then we can go from there.

Ditto, but, ask if it''s eyeclean first. If so, then ask for the other info.
