I went last night to get my dress altered and my mom took some pictures. Thanks to Researcher--here''s the picture. The hemline is pinned so the bottom looks a little strange. I will post a close-up in the next post.
Ok, here''s the close up picture. Now, the big question. What kind of jewelry should I wear? I will be wearing my hair in a half-up do curly style...It will obviously look much better than my quick clip job. I have diamond studs on now but I''m thinking I need something bigger. Not sure on a necklace. Opinions?
I think if you''re going to wear your hair similar to the way it is in your picture now then you wouldn''t want to cover up a beautiful necklace with hair curls. I would go with something long, skinny and sparkly for earings. That way it they would light little sparkles in front of your dark hair and because they''re long they would draw your eye to the detail on the bodice.
Island you look so beautiful & glowingly happy! No clue what to recommend for jewelery. LOL. I''m a bit of a minimalist when it comes to that (except the ering...lol). The dress is fitting for an island wedding!
You look gorgeous! Just my opinion--but I have always believed that for strapless you wear either long type earrings OR a necklace but not both...And since you have beading on your dress and do not want to draw attention away from its beauty, then how about just a dangle type earring? The ones previously posted look yummy.......
Love the earings Erin posted! Those will be beautiful with the dress. I also like the idea of either the earings or the necklace, but not both. I agree with Canuk that the earings might be a better option due to the beading of your dress. The dangly earings will also help create a nice vertical line. Yeah!!!!!!
Island you look beautiful! I just can''t get over how happy you look in your picture. (I know, silly considering I don''t know you...lol).
Again, you look gorgeous in that dress! I LOVE the beading!!! As for jewelry, I would either wear diamond studs with a simple drop necklace (a 3-stone, y-drop, or similar), or, as others have suggested, just a pair of long sparkly earrings
Beautiful dress and looks terrific on you! I think long sparkly earrings, or perhaps chandeler earrings would look great without a necklace. Perhaps earrings and a bracelet?
You look beautiful! I agree that earrings/bracelet is probably the way to go. I''m sorry, I haven''t kept up..is this a destination wedding? What time of day are you getting married?
Thanks everyone for the nice comments and suggestions. I think the longer sparkly earrings make sense. My wedding is actually somewhat casual. It''s outdoors at the University of Illinois campus Champaign, IL. It''s on a Sunday at 12:30. We''re having a casual picnic style reception so I don''t want to be too glittery.
