I wrote a response but then deleted it as I never know if I cross the guidelines. I listened to 1984 in January, morbidly perfect timing (great on audio). I was then shown an ad for this hat and immediately added to my cart. Then reflected on the irony of it all. I will still buy it-the algorithm wins on this one but at least I don’t think “big brother” will like it.

i only saw the movie in 1985 -movies used to take ages to get here in those days
i thought it was boring
when i worked in Wellington if i ever walked through the central business district i did use to think of the movie because everyone wore gray up there on the Terrace

If America (arguably the country where folks have it the greatest) gets even greater, all other countries get kicked down to even less-great.

I was referring to waking up daily to major changes in policies, truths…manipulation of rhetoric, eradication of freedom, “numbers and facts” being spit out, people becoming “unpersons” due to their gender labels…you know—all the madness, but thank you for referring to Google to support your point.
I guess we will eventually go from 1984 to Terminator. Currently we are living in Idiocracy.

I have been fully expecting this!! Thank God I live in Ca. I don’t know how some people can sleep at night with their choices. They traded their souls for rhetoric, thinking they would be exempt from the hatred. Like. Really? What makes some think they will be exempt unless they are billionaires.
