18k Alexandrite Cats Eye Ring — love it or hate it?

I found this unusual 18k Diamond and Alexandrite Cats Eye ring. It is custom made and a very interesting design. All the stones are matched and have good color change which is fascinating to me. The design certainly isn’t for everyone So I’m curious to poll the group. Love it or hate it?

Not a fan. I think I would like the general design if the gems and metal work was a bit closer together without so much space in between.

I love can eye alexs' and own a couple which I adore & love but the overall design of the ring is a bit incohesive, albeit its an abstract/modern ring I just dont care for the design.
Diamonds & alexandrites work well together though!

Would need to see it on the finger but another strong dislike -- sorry. I would buy it and re-mount as a band...

I don't think it showcases the fascinating stones -- makes them look like an afterthought...

LilAlex - so funny you say that. It was exactly what I was thinking. I like the stones but the design is awful. I wish they would have designed it better. The stones have potential. Unfortunately, at $1500, it’s just too much to take it apart.

TheGarnetGirl - completely agree, I love the two stones together, but the design feels “confused” to me. Almost like it started with an idea but then the gold had a mind of its own. Your stones are gorgeous!

LisaRN - I think your right. I think the problem is that it’s all spread out. I’m ok with abstract as long as it has purpose. I think this design lacks the deliberate intent necessary to have a solid abstract design.

I wasn’t planning on getting it — I’m not much for super modern design. With that said, I couldn’t tell if I disliked it because it‘s modern or because it really is all over the place.

I like the design as a brooch. But far too much space in between for a nice ring.

Hmmmm - not sure. It might look quite fun on the hand as what I call a summer ring, as accessoire to a cool summer dress.

If you have long slender fingers I can see this being quite a lovely statement piece. IMO I think that its a design that works with those types of fingers in particular very well. My big ol man hands....lol not at all....

Not a fan I'm afraid because the spacing on the metal is too open. It reminds me of pieces that a man called Steve used to post years ago (and he drove me bonkers)! lol
