I need some suggestion on my diamond solitaire earring (18 KT gold) bought almost a year ago from Blue Nile. It seems that gold near the joint on the back of the setting is turning black. I didnot notice this until I removed my earrings for cleaning that they were turning black. I immediately wrote to their customer service and was told to send the earrings to them and they would clean it and fix it. I dont understand how can 18 KT gold earrings turn black? Also now I am worried about the diamonds being switched because Customer representative told me they will take about a week's time to clean it ? This was my first purchase and I feel like a complete fool to have ordered online. Any advice/suggestion on the same would be appreciated.
