OK, I''ve been following this forum for a few weeks - and its great, but a quick question.

Are the pricescope prices for most of these vendors negotiable? Or are most vendors flexible? If they are how low do they negotiate under the lowest pricescope price?

Thanks.

There could be some wiggle room depending on the circumstances. If it is a virtual stone being offered by multiple vendors then you might be able to ask Vendor A to match the lower price being offered by Vendor B. If you are a repeat customer of a vendor there are sometimes small credits available. Some diamonds have been in house for a while and the vendor might be motivated to move the diamond and thus lower the price. Why not ask? It cannot hurt when you are in the final stages of a sale.

But generally speaking the prices are what they are, especially for in house stones. The profit margin on diamonds for internet vendors is very small, around 5% for virtual inventory stones usually, perhaps a little more for in house diamonds. So there simply is not a lot of wiggle room.

Sometimes, esp. if you are also getting the setting from the same vendor, but as DD mentioned, profit margins are pretty slim and ther''s not a ton of room.
