Hi all - so my ladyfriend and I are taking the plunge, and we have recently purchased a canary yellow yellow sapphire, cushion cut to be used as an engagement ring. Unfortunately I don''t have photos, but it looks somewhat like this but a little bit bigger:

We are designing our own ring with the help of a jeweler, and due to the large size of the stone we are leaning strongly towards having it stand on its own without any supplementary small stones. However, we are debating what sort of setting we want both to hold the stone and for the ring itself (sorry, I''m new to this, don''t know the exact terminology).
My girlfriend loves vintage jewelery, and she has a special affinity for art deco pieces (but that''s not a necessity). However, we are hoping for something unique looking to go with our unique stone. We are leaning towards 18K gold.
So, I was wondering if any of you had any thoughts as to what would be a nice vintage-style setting for such a stone. Are there any good websites which have a variety of sample settings to browse, or alternatively can you think of any nice, unique touches we could put on a ring of this nature?
Any and all advice would be appreciated, and would go a long way to making me and my girlie happy, so thanks in advance.
