11 stone versus full eternity - please help!

I am SO torn. For months I thought I was decided on the Whiteflash U-prong eternity band ala Annette, Katiedid, et al on these forums, with the 10 point stones for my w-ring.

Then I started thinking about the full versus half eternity band debate and got a quote from Chris @ WF for an 11 stone u-prong eternity band with 15 point stones. Turns out the price is the exact same.

Having a big, stand-alone w-ring is important to me. But equally so is the w-ring not overwhelming my 1.50 carat pear solitaire e-ring when I wear them together.

I have seen plenty of 10 pointer eternity band hand shots but no 15 pointers. Any out there? What would you lovely ladies do in this situation? Will the 10 vs 15 point size be obvious? My ring size is 4.5 - will the 11 stone go pretty far around do you think? There are so few retailers with good selections it has been hard for me to visualize this in person! Any advice would be so appreciated!

Honestly? I think either one will overwhelm a 1.5ct pear

. So personally I would not plan to wear them at the same time. So if that is the case, I''d get the 15 point half eternity. Keeps the bling up top where you see it, safer, you can resize, and it is more comfortable under the fingers. Then have a plan wb to wear with the e-ring when you want a different look.

As for how many diamonds, I wear a 6.5 and 10 5 point stones covers the whole top of my finger. That is 24mm. On a size 4.5 finger, I don''t think you would need 11 x 15 pointers, which are 3.4mm each. I think you would need 7-9 MAX. 11 stones would be more like a 3/4 eternity.

I have a 9 stone 15 poiter half eternity from Facets, from the top and sides it looks just like a full without the worry of banging the stones on the underside . My ring size is 5 with short hands, it looks large on me, but that will depend on where you live and what is normal in your area.

I did post some pictures if you look in the show me your ring, the top section where the ring sticky is - i think it is on page 101, you can type in 101 and get to it. I am not sure how to link otherwise I would past it in for you.

but on page 101 there is a half eternity or full ( just saw the top) with 14 pointers and a large e-ring to give you an idea.

Hope it helps, it might be worth scrolling through the enagementent ring folder there will be lots of examples of eternitys with close to your dimensions with e-rings and without to see.

this is my full eternity ring, stone size 13.5pts each.

the ring with it is a golden sapphire, 7.8mm. i dont know the weight of the sapphire, but i *think* about 2cts - i''m not sure tho. in diameter, it equates to about a 1.75 round brilliant diamond. i set it with 2 x .68ct stones = 1.36ctw so it''s a pretty substantial ring.

i feel that the 3 stone ring carries the eternity band nicely, but i purposely went as large as i did with the side stones so it *would* carry it.

i try to keep the ctw of the stones showing in an eternity band about half or less the ctw of that in the e-ring or RHR above it. that seems to keep the proportions about right.

thanks maisie it''s certainly an eyeful when i wear it...well, it is to me, anyway, tho PS has shown me that there is no limit to blinginess!

I have an 11 stone, one carat channel band (so just under 10points each) and on a size 6.5 finger they go just beyond the underside of the finger where the finger meet on the hand - hopefully that makes sense! I don''t have it for photos as it''s being sized for my right hand

I think a beautiful 1.5 mm eternity would look stunning with your pear
