If you had $10,000 to spend on an engagement ring, what woud you buy?

What cut do you think would be the best stone investment?

I would just buy what you like and suits your hand and lifestyle best.
I wouldn''t look at buying any jewellery as an investment, as unless you have the connections in the trade, you will almost always lose money on a resale.

Personally, I''m looking to get a radiant or emerald. I''m trying to spend less than $10,000.

I was just wondering hypothetically if you had the money, what you would buy. Sorry, I guess my question should have been clearer. :)

Hey, go with your gut! If you like radiant, go with it. Many begged my fiance'' to get an Asscher because "its more popular than a Radiant". When she had the two stones in front of her, she always picked the Radiant. Now its on her hand and she loves it!

I would go with a round brilliant cut...love the sparkle!

I would buy this. In a split second.

I''d buy a gorgeous round brilliant or a square hearts and arrows from GOG and set it in a lovely leon pave split shank.

Engagement rings are not investments! They are symbols of love and committment and you will never get the same price as what you paid if in the event you need to resell it.

Buy the best cut stone you can and have it set in a setting you know she will adore, if unsure, pop it in a temp setting and she can decide later on.

The best investment in the shape of a diamond is the Round.

Wow. That''s beautiful. Any idea on the price? I didn''t see it listed.

I would never choose a cut(shape) based on investment value unless I had hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars burning a hole in my pocket. Choose your engagement ring for the style you love most since you''ll be the one wearing and admiring it every day.

That said, for $10,000, I would get (and I''m already wearing my favorite choice of a 0.75 carat untreated fancy yellow cushion surrounded by 0.26 carats VS E white round diamonds in platinum and 18k yellow gold) a 1.5 carat VS E/F asscher on a low set 2.5mm platinum ring with double claw curved prongs.
