Hi Everyone!

I just pulled the trigger on this diamond and would like to hear your views on this. My budget was $5000, wanted to get a 1 ct. ring so I had to play around with the last 3 C’s. Finally decided on a 1ct. eye clean K color SI1, triple excellent (cut, polish and symmetry) GIA certified.

Was wondering if I got the best combination possible with the 4 C's for my budget? I paid $4850 for the diamond. Would you say it was a good buy?

HCA for the diamond was 1.7

Thanks for the help and comments!

Looks like you got a nice diamond at a pretty nice price...post pictures when you get the ring put together!

Cut quality looks good.

Have you seen it in person? What do you think of the K color?

The specs are good but it is the IS you posted that should give you the most confidence. It shows a very nicely performing stone. I think you did really well on the cut side. As for the color and the ring. I'm excited to hear your impressions of it all when you get it from the jeweler!

The diamond looks very nice and the price is very good! I think you did very well balancing your desires for the 4Cs. Some prefer to stay in the more colorless range for an engagement diamond, but the reality is that most people buy diamond with lab reports from much less reputable labs, or no report at all, and so the vast majority of diamonds out there are likely much more tinted than a K color. I suspect you will be very happy with your purchase, but if you are not, I assume you have a good return period? That is something every consumer should ensure they have before making such a large purchase.

Hi dreamer,

your comment on the diamond is giving me some peace of mind! :appl:

sad to say that, i dont really have s good return period! im from the Philippines and sourced the diamond through a reputable jeweller in Singapore, they helped me source out the Diamond then it was shiped to them for the setting.

i had a friend in Singapore who inspected the diamon, and according to him it was eye clean, no green or brownish hues.

im hoping for comments on the diamond, since i can still change it before the year ends.

Thanks!
