A seller on internet is offering this at 30% below value of any stone with comparable specs on bluenile. I think this is obviously a good deal but I want to make sure I''m not getting scammed or not getting what I think I am.

I am meeting the owner of the stone at a reputable gemologist of my choice tomorrow to verify that the stone matches the GIA cert. What other questions can I ask the gemologist who inspects it to make sure I am getting a 13k stone for 10k? Is there anything regarding the medium blue flourescence I should be looking for? or regarding the fact it the stone was set & worn for a couple years.

Thanks, I''ve been browsing this site for a month or two and you guys seem like a very nice community!

Is this a private seller or a vendor? If its a private seller you should be able to do even better. I think the best
people do on re-sale is around 50% from what I''ve been reading here on PS. I would offer even less.

it''s a private seller... that 50% is surprising to me but I guess that''s good news and maybe I can be more patient in my search. Is 50% a reflection of what jewelry stores will purchases stones back from private owners for?

If you are lucky. Most will buy a used stone for around 30%.

I am surprised at the low prices quoted here. Would the price be higher for a diamond that has never been worn or comes with vendor guarantees and warranties.

The report looks good. I reiterate the need to check for damage. The stone is a VVS2, any small chips on the girdle would change the grade. The price is fair but you could probably get it for a little less. Good luck.
