Unfortunately yes it is a surprise, and yes it has to be platinum (or white gold, possibly). My girlfriend doesn''t like yellow gold.

Thanks a TON. I''d actually already read the page from your link regarding ASET images, and it was quite helpful. It did teach me enough to figure that the green on the outside probably shouldn''t be there, but I wasn''t sure how much of a problem it is. I definitely want a diamond that is very well cut, and if the green in the ASET suggests to you that the diamond''s cut is flawed then I will move on to another diamond.

As for the link to fluorescence, it was extremely helpful (as was the thread it linked to). Thanks again.
