Ditto, its too deep for me personally but the diameter measurements will be useful and the girdle thickness please.Date: 6/1/2009 10:32:21 AM

I forgot to ask what are the polish and symmetry grades please?
Thank you! Well you could find a diamond with a better depth and polish and symmetry grades, but overall it appears the proportions work well together. If it is with an online vendor the next step would be to get an ASET or Idealscope image of the diamond and to check it is eyeclean to your standards. What quality of cut were you hoping for, the best you can get or a ' nice make' cutwise? Or in other words do you want good or do you want great for cut?Date: 6/1/2009 10:44:05 AM

Thanks Lorelei. I was hoping to maximize the cut quality since, as you can see, I''m compromising a bit on the color and clarity. So if this one doesn''t have a great chance of being a high performer, I''ll probably just pass on it.Date: 6/1/2009 10:46:58 AM

Glad to help! Really to me 62.8% depth is pushing it and goes way past my personal preference - and I am ok with a bit more depth than some, really if you want the best cut you can get I would keep looking. Top cut diamonds do not have such depths and although like I said you can just get away with the depth face up, it is a little on the small side. It might be ok for performance ( as I said previously Idealscope or ASET would help there) but really the fact remains it is deep and as Ellen says this could impact performance. VG VG polish and symmetry really isn't the issue as good and above looks the same to the naked untrained eye but that depth to me is a risk factor.Date: 6/1/2009 10:50:50 AM
