One of the high-end jewelry stores in town offered me this diamond for $3500. HCA says 2.4, and notes " worth buying at the right price". It looks spectacular to me in the store, but they have no pictures to offer to post online. My question: Is $3500 a fair price for this type of diamond? The jeweler says they are an AGS certified shop, but this diamond is uncertified.

1.43 M I1

7.34 mm
crown angle 35.4
pavil depth 42.9
table 61.3
total depth 59.7

weak blue fluorescence..

I am looking for a warm color, I1, 1.5 around $3500. Any suggestions?

If its uncertified, than what authority says its M I1? The store?? It could then be P I2 - you never know.

$3301 M I1 1.39 (the one you posted was only 0.04 heavier) - this is a Crafted by Infinity diamond - not sure if there is any PS or wire transfer discount, you would need to ask...

I'd MUCH rather have this one (stock # 4969 since link isn't working). An ideal cut will make the stone really shine, and as someone else noted an uncertified M I1 is likely to be much lower...And this one is held by Winfield's Jewelers who is a trusted PS vendor.

This one will really be an M I1, Ideal cut (will be under 2 on HCA), AND a great vendor. You couldn't ask for more IMO.

Same one I posted!! The stones Winfield''s carries If Cut by Infinity are fantastic cuts. If you are okay with an M this could be a nice choice. I have one and it''s warm and beautiful.

Ha ha great minds...! You were faster on the draw!

Just looked at that diamond. Those black inclusions look pretty bad in the photos. Do you think they are in reality? The "I1" at my jewelers didn''t have any black inclusions, they were white.

Only way to know is to call Wink and ask. Those magnified images though are huge compared to the actual stone, so I''m sure they aren''t as noticeable. He might have other good options for you too.

the inclusions actually look like you are seeing some inclusions causing reflections around the stone (thus appearing more multiple than they are) - the only thing to do is give Wink a call tomorrow and ask him. He has the physical stone in his safe and I am certain would be happy to pull it out and discuss it with you.

If you are really in the Twin Cities, the local Crafted by Infinity dealer is Continental Diamonds in St. Louis Park. Link They can bring in the stone so you can see it in person.

HI:

Good suggestion (if your location is TS). Infinity transfers stones to where the demand is, no obligation. You can see this AGS 0 Ideal cut in person and compare it to your local stone and decide for yourself.

cheers--Sharon

I believe I am allowed to answer this here since you are asking, but if not the moderator will kindly remove this post.

This stone is rare for one of Infinity''s diamonds in that it does have some black inclusions rather than the colorless crystals that their I1''s tend to have. However, those inclusions are not visible to the unaided eye, even though they look bad in the magnified picture. (At least to my eyes, some with greater visual acuity may see them if they are looking just right and if they hold their breath and say the magic word...)

The inclusion that is setting the grade and that is visible is the colorless feather that shows in the 7 O''clock area in the photos on the Infinity site. It is hard to see unless you know where to look, which is what makes it such a great value. Face up it is stunning.

Like all of the other vendors here we have a generous look and return period.

Also, I would like to thank those of you who have so graciously pointed this stone out and who spoke such kind words about both Infinity and myself. It is greatly appreciated.

Wink

Good thought. The folks at Continental are good people. Andrew posts here very sporadically and is very knowledgable about the Infinity Diamonds.

That way you can look at both diamonds in the same day and know for sure which one floats your boat the best...
