$1,400-$1,500 budget- jewelry suggestions?

Do 1.5 ctw (.75 ct each) look much bigger on than 1 ctw studs (.50 ct each) in a martini setting?

Okay so I have a $1,400-$1,500 budget and am not sure what to get. Need some ideas, inspiration & good online places to browse. I don't necessarily need/want to spend it all on one item, but would for the right item.

Here's what I DON'T need:
-Bridal set/anniversary band
-Diamond solitaire necklace (happy with my .75 solitaire)
-Small diamond studs (have a .50 tcw-.25 each ear-set and .25 tcw diamond earring jackets in a halo style)
-Gold bangle bracelets
-Right hand diamond ring
-Watch (probably not-though for the right one I might but likely not)

Ideas:
Larger diamond studs for more formal occasions/going out, etc - I'm thinking 1 ct - 1.5 ct total weight (.50 or .75 ct each ear) in a martini setting with no halo. I have the .50 tcw (.25 ct each ear)-my ears/lobes/frame/face is small so they look pretty healthy on the size on me. I have tried a 1ct pair and loved them. I haven't tried the 1.5 ct on and wonder if it would look too big or fake.

Questions: On the ear do the 1.5 ct (.75 on each ear) pairs look larger than the 1 ct (.50 on each ear)? Is the size difference that great on the ear in that setting?

Other ideas...
Any diamond bracelets I should consider? I'd rather have the earrings, but am considering a bracelet.

I'd love a diamond by the yard necklace but wouldn't pay the premium for a brand name. Any thoughts on those for my price range. From what I've looked at, it's not my best value.

So...should I get the earrings and if so, 1 or 1.5 ct. Or would I be better with a bracelet or something else? Or maybe a vintage piece of some sort?

Give me some inspiration & suggestions please! Also, please, where are your favorite online jewelers who give a good value for the money-I'd like to stretch my budget as far as I can. Any vintage sellers?

If I had your budget I'd be looking at preowned items.

Here are the where most pricescopers list the items they are selling:

I'd just browse and see what catches your eye. Some of the sellers will negotiate with you for prices, so always ask if the price is negotiable (but not if it says "price is firm" or equivalent). Also if you find more than one piece by the same seller that you might want offer a discounted price for both.

Thanks so much! Off to look! I think pre-owned jewelry can be a great value and have bought some locally and off ebay with great experiences (for the most part, had to return one due to worn prongs but it was SO lovely).

Any more good places online (besides those and ebay)?

Thanks!

Ebay, but you need to be careful (sounds like you know that) and rubylane.com :wavey:

Can't wait to see what you get!!

I like farmergal's suggestion. While I'm sure that there would be a noticable difference between .50 and .75 cw stones on your ear, I'm not sure it would be enough of a difference for me to want to pairs of studs. I like the idea of something a bit different and the ones that farmergal posted are terrific!
