1.4 ct H Radiant center w/ F color halo w/ pave. Contrast?

I'm purchasing a GIA 1.4 ct H color Radiant cut diamond to be placed in a Daussi halo engagement ring. The melee diamonds will be F color. Will there be a lot of contrast in color between the center diamond and halo? I would prefer to minimize the warmth. I'm considering requesting matching color melee stones, but is that really necessary? Thanks for your help.

can you get a picture of it on a white sheet of paper or tissue? I'm not seeing much color, but I am seeing quite a bit of dark in the center. can you take a picture of it by the window? an possibly a picture of it further away but use the zoom button so the stone isn't reflecting a black camera? This would help me at least see what the actual color is. square diamond tend to show more color, but I think you're still fine with an H...it'd still be helpful to see more pics...

I don't have the diamond personally yet. Purchasing through since1910.com. It's a VS1. I'll try to get more pictures.

Daussi+radiant shape? I would see if Diamonds by Lauren has an open Daussi account, or if they can make a similar setting themselves, as they make beautiful halos and are kind of radiant specialists... The diamond in the picture doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Did you get an aset of that stone? It looks like has a large bow-tie. Just from that single pic I wouldn't think it is cut
very well (but it is a single picture and it could be the photography). Just thinking you should get more pictures and an
aset to be sure.

To answer our qurstion the color combo should be fine, however, i really thinm you could find a more flattering radient cut

Budget is $9000. I'm working on getting an ASET. The gemologist at since1910.com says it looks awesome and has a minimal bow tie. Anyone have any experience with those guys? Trust them?

I have never worked with them but based on that picture i wouldnt call that bowtie minimal, especially sense you can get radients with none at all

this is my favorite type of radient, much flashier.

Does she prefer that crushed ice look? Prefer long ones? Did she specifically ask for a radient or do you just like them?

My gf likes the look of radiants, close to a 1.2 ratio, in that setting.

oh ok, then the normal radient it is does it have to be THAT setting, or does she just like a halo with pave down the shank. I would imaging that "Daussi" is probably more expensive because its a name brand. How much is that setting?

Again some people love the unique rarity of yellow diamonds, she very well might not be one of those ladies.

I prefer the white diamonds, as does she. The setting is very similar, though.

I would contact Diamonds by Lauren and see what they could do for you. They seem to have a lot of nice radiants and could do a custom setting for you similar to the one you like.

agreed, i think contacting someone would be a good idea. Good old gold would be a great one to contact too. Just email them and say "oh im trying to get a 2:1 ratio radiant above X color and eye clean in a pave halo for under 13k" or whatever your budget was. They go out and find a few stones that fit the bill for you to choose from, a lot of people find it a fabulous way to find fancies.
