Hello,
I recently purchased this stone from BN http://www.bluenile.com/asscher-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-g-color-vs1-clarity_LD01125188 and would like to get some feedback from the experts on this site. I realize purchasing online is risky because I should be viewing the stone first hand. However, I was hoping that by purchasing a sig ideal stone I would increase my chances of success also I do not have much time.
I originally wanted an sig ideal cut F VVS1 1ct. However, the rep convinced me that Asschers are prone to appear smaller than rounds when set and that I cannot tell the color difference from F to G with the sig ideal cut (unaided eye). Also, not that it matters but the stone has been available on BN since April and never been purchased.
So a few questions are below as I still am in my return period...
Should I have went smaller and purchased the sig ideal cut F VVS1 1.03 ct, 61% table 66 depth 7500.00? And would the smaller stone been a much better value?
Is 8400 for this stone insane? not to mention a rip off
I was told the dimensions on this stone were ideal because they were so close to being balanced (62 -64.
? Is this true, or just a way to market me the stone because I originally thought a small table and large depth was ideal for an Asscher?
Please let me know any other feedback you may have. I don''t mind paying a premium for quality but for some reason I think that this stone was way overpriced. Thanks goodness for return policies!
Thanks for your feedback!
