I am still searching for the "perfect" stone, for a 5.5 sized lady, setting white gold, with focus on Cut and Size. I came over this stone and it appears good to me, but would like to have your expert input!

It looks like it has potential, the numbers work. The problem with BN is that you can't get actual images of the stone or IS images to determine if the stone will have any leakage. They also don't have the diamonds on site unless its part of the signature collection, so they can't assess the stone for you. I guess they will call cutter and ask if the stone is eye clean, but of course the cutter wants to sell the stone so it's not a completely independent evaluation. It's a VS2, so it's likely not an issue, but I would want to be sure that the clouds weren't interfering with the brilliance of the stone in any way. You could of course order it and take a look yourself, they have a great return period.

Another suggestion would be to contact one of the PS vendors and ask if they can bring the stone in for you. Many vendors have access to the same stones and since this isn't an in house stone it's probable that someone else has access to it. I know GOG has called in stone for other PSers and were able to run the proper test to determine it's cut quality. Also IDJ, can call in any BN stone and evaluate it, do IS and magnified images for you. They also have a price guarantee stating that they will beat any competitors price, so it may be worth looking into.

"Flourescence - Faint." I have no problem with blue flourescence, and since blue is the most common, most likely the reference to only "faint" without a color safely means it's "faint blue." It seems like GIA normally notes the color of the flourescence, though maybe this is something that has changed? I'd either call and ask about it, or plan to put it under a UV light when you get the diamond and within your return period. I've seen diamonds, particularly on BN, that flouresce yellow, which is very undesirable. Based on your pricing (which seems reasonable based on comps, I'm also looking for about a 1.2 ct, H/I, VS2/SI1), it should be faint blue because there'd be a discount for a yellow-flourescing stone normally, but I'd want to be sure, kwim?
