Do you all think that a 1.22 ct is a good size range for a couple in their early 20''s? ?

Rick

P.S. Im still trying to get you all pics of the ring that I bought....promise

Rick,

I''m in my now mid-20''s and just bought a 0.81ct center and with the side stones it comes out to about 1.25ct, so I would say, yes, that''s a great size. But the size should be what you can afford and like and not what other people think. So yes, that''s a perfect size and I''m sure she''ll love it!

1.2 is nice, 2.1 is better

Seriously though, anything over a carat is quite substantial and over the average for most young couples. I''m sure it''ll knock her little socks off

I have a 0.6; teeny by ps standards, but I work in a non-blingy field. Average size varies by geographic location and occupation. But no matter where you are or what you do, 1.2 is a nice size. The best size is always on you can easily afford.

Unless she''s an investment banker in New York, then maybe go to 2.1.

I have a 1.23ct and I adore it. I think that it''s a great size.

It is a beautiful size, and I bet a lot larger than most people in their 20s!

What I would give for a 1.2 .....

All kidding aside, it`s like mercoledi said, it`s what you can afford and what the average size is around you.

I think it`s a terrific size!! Best of luck!

1.34 carat and I''m 20 from New York City. I agree with the posters above, she''ll be happy with anything you give her however anything over 1 carat is always great!

That should be a great size!!! Anything over 1 ct will be most appreciated by her...

Personally, I think that is a great size stone for a couple of any age. :-)

Ditto.

Are you asking about age-appropriateness because you''re expecting to upgrade it as you become older?

I''m sure your fiancee will love the ring regardless.

Your efforts at getting her the right one show that you have a HEART that is the perfect size as well!

Yes. Keep in mind it''s substantially larger than most women ever have. 20, 30, 80, whatever. You will always find people with more, bigger, better, etc but this applies to virtually everything. What matters is that the two of you are happy with it.

You found a knock out cushion and I can''t wait to see more pics!

I agree with everyone else... It''s mostly up to you and your budget.

I''ll be getting a 1.22 cushion that we''re putting a halo on. I''ll be 23 next month. My only concern is that since I look so young, younger than I actually am, (gotta love the asian genes) people will think that it''s either fake or I''m spoiled rotten, but at the same time, I''m thrilled with what we''ve decided on and could care less what others think...

Hope this is someone helpful :)

mel047 - do you have a picture of the ring you''re getting, or the design ? It sounds similar to the ring I am having made, which should be done this week.

1,21ct G VS1 Cushion prong set slightly above a delicate halo

I would LOVE a 1.2 (please!)

I also would love a 1.2! It is a great size and what I am aiming for in my upgrade (a long time in the future in a galaxy far away...)

Thank you so much for the reassurance! ! ! ! I had a momentary lapse of confusion!!! I am posting pics of the ring today for everyone to see!
