I continually hunt for the right stone. Could anyone give me coments on whether this is a good buy at $4,887?

It''s all about the inclusions- can you find out what & where the inclusions are?

Looks like two crystals and one cloud in table area. A few feathers near the girdle. It also has medium blue flourescence.

Are you looking at a cert or the actual stone or a pic of the stone?

I like it better if the inclusion isn''t under the table- seems better if it is under the facets.
Also, the lower in the stone, the better.

I''m not an expert, just a fellow shopper!

I''ve seen SI1''s that look awful and SI1''s that look clear as a bell (almost)

Do you feel the price is good if it is eye-clean?

SI stones have to be looked at to ensure they''re eyeclean. Have you seen this stone? Eyeclean to one person may not be eyeclean to another. I agree to be leary of inclusions under the table as they are usually the most easily visible. Crystals can be good or bad. Small white crystals are typically hard to find, especially if they''re off the table. However, if the crystals are black, you''ll probably spot them pretty easily, especially if they''re under the table. Ultimately, you just have to look at the stone. If it''s online, they should be able to send you pictures. Regardless, make sure there''s a good return policy!

With those numbers plugged into the cut advisor, the result is "Very Good - worth buying if the price is right"
This assumes a symetrical no cutlet, with a medium girdle and very good polish

*oops! just saw that you already had done this

Do you have a copy of the certificate to post? Basically, if it's eye clean, it may be worth it.
