mjso: That is awesome about pedometer! I probably don''t walk more than 1500 a day, hmm. I totally want one! I think my Mom might getting a new one so maybe I can get hers! It''s also awesome that you''ve joined the comepetition, totally a way to motivate yourself. What are some ways you get extra steps in? I know you mentioned walking around the block, but do you park farther away and things like that?

Gwen: I

pasta. I am a carby kind of gal.

I''m doing pretty well. I haven''t gained any more weight, but I do overall think I gained like 2 lbs. Time to REALLY get down to work. I am visiting FI this weekend, so this is going to be rough food-wise. He doesn''t eat very well.
14.gif
And i forgot to bring diet sodas, so looks like I am stuck with water tonight. I knew I''d forget something!
38.gif
FI only has regular sodas unfortunately. So I am joining you in the water like the dickens thing! Haha. What do you have planned for the weekend? Tomorrow I am hoping to do a practice LSAT. Woo, wish me luck.

Girls I had to come and share something..my Mom and I were trying to remember what size I ordered in my dress since it''s coming in July. I needed to lose a few lbs to fit in it perfectly. Well guess what? If I measured correctly. It''s already too big. Which is great news and scary news!
6.gif
6.gif
I was hoping it''d fit for a bit longer, ahhh! I haven''t been losing lbs, but I''ve been dropping inches like crazy. I am going to call the bridal salon tomorrow and get my measurements from January to make sure before I announce how much I''ve lost.

But anyway, should I worry about my dress being able to be altered next winter? Because I am worried! I know they said they could work magic, I just wanted to lose more weight and that''s looking less plausible. I guess I can still tone, but oh my God the dress will be huge!

My Mom said we could buy a second dress if we have to and try to sell this one, but I do love my dress. For future reference, I guess I would advise to NOT buy a dress too early even if you''re in love with it?

Haha, I know what you mean about your guy not eating very well! I feel like I gain 10 pounds everytime I see J because he doesn't care if I lose weight or not, and he'll say stuff like, "Oh come on, you look beautiful, and I know you love (insert evil not-so-healthy food here)!" He's terrible! But I have strong willpower and usually stand my ground and eats my salads and stuff, MOST of the time. But he is a bad influence. I will have to devise a plan when we move in together of how to resist his temptations! Or I will just only keep healthy stuff in the house, bwahahaha.

Yay, practice LSAT! You are totally going to rock it out--I think it sounds like you've practiced more for it than any of my lawyer friends and they all passed, so you will ace that baby! No plans for me this weekend, besides writing my paper. I just walked to the library and back to get some new books (and, er, return the overdue ones) so now I'm set up for the weekend to writewritewrite... Whee!

Have a great weekend with your FI!!!!

And make sure you keep drinking that water!

PS: That is AWESOME about your dress being huge on you! Well, awesome and not awesome. If they say they can work magic with it, let them! Sounds like a win-win to me! Great progress, Sar!

Yoga was awesome this morning! He had the heat down a bit because I think he realized it was too hot last week (when I almost fainted!). I got through the whole workout with only a few knee poses this time. My teacher said he could really tell a difference in my abilities in just the month I''ve been going. I''m getting deeper into the movements and holding them longer. It felt really good to hear him compliment me on that. I''m down another 2 pounds and feeling good. I''m actually on a bit of a "runner''s high" right now, I think. I walked in from class sweaty and gross but singing to the cats, made some scrambled eggs with fresh dill from my garden and my DH thinks I''m crazy. It''s fab. now I''m going to shower and go see SATC with some friends. woo hoo!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I do all kinds of crazy things :-P

I''ve always been one of those people who parks far away, I hate havng to squeeze into a spot or drive around looking for one. Actually, one of my pet peeves at the gym is people who drive around looking for the closest spot...you are going to the gym!! To work out!!! Why do you need to park as close as possible?!?

I walk randomly around my house just to get to the next 1k steps. I walk to breakfast on the weekends. And at work whenever anyone asks me to go somewhere I always say "yes!" just to get the extra steps in.

Some other tips people have been doing around our office are 1) not using email...go walk and talk to the person..my boss sits right next to me, so I don''t really have to walk to talk to them. 2) going to other kitchens/bathrooms further away from the closest one.

Its really amazing how fast the steps add up. It also helps that my team is taking it REALLLY seriously. And our big boss is on my team. So I feel like I have to walk a lot or my boss will be dissapointed lol. Some people on my team are averaging like 15k steps a day! Which is not what I average, but I''m working on it.

Congrats on your dress!!! My mom basically told me she won''t go dress shopping with me until I lose weight, so I haven''t even really started shopping. It''s probably one of the things I''m most nervous about.

In high school I was a size zero, in most of college I was around a size 6 and now I''m around a size 10-12, so I''m really nervous about the whole dress thing. I have almost a whole year, so I feel like I should have plenty of time to get back down to a 6-8, but I also have had 5 months so far and haven''t seen any REAL noticable differences. I don''t weigh myself because I''m afraid to see the number (when I was in high school I told myself if I ever weighed over 150lb I would get my jaw wired shut and I''m positive I''m over 150 now) but I also feel like maybe I have lost some weight, I just don''t know it. But then, my clothes aren''t baggy...so I''m still the same size in clothes.

Oh and after all that rambling. Yesterday I drank over 110 oz of water! It was so random....I just couldn''t...stop...drinking. Insatiable thirst...it was very very odd.

Heh, I knew a guy in college who was a personal trainer. He was the buffest, brawniest guy ever, but I caught him taking the elevator (!) to the second floor for our physics lab one day. I was like, "what gives? You bust your ass to get fit, then you take the elevator?" His reply was, "At the gym, I kill myself working out. But outside the gym, I am the laziest mother f'er you will ever meet. It's my reward to myself for all my hard work!" I gotta say, the man had a point, but I still laughed at him every time he got in the elevator.

Anyway, hi all! I've never posted here because I have been off the weight-loss bandwagon for quite some time. Last week though, I hopped back on by joining Weight Watchers. Anyone else here doing that? I am on the points system, and I lost 4 lbs my first week, so I'm pretty happy about that. Only 46 more to go before I hit my goal. . .ugh. . .
3.gif

sarah--OMG, i so know what you mean about the big girl with the cute face thing--everyone always says "but you have such a beautiful face", and it just feels like a back-handed compliment instead of something you can really feel good about!

as for my day, my FI was the best man today in his best friend''s wedding, which was fun...and alcohol free, which is really odd for me because i''m irish-italian, so we drink if someone sneezes! it also made me realize that i only have 4 and 1/2 months to go, so it''s panic time!! my dress fit somewhat well when i first tried it on, but i can now easily fit another person in it with me--both a good thing and horrible. i''m terrified that it won''t fit correctly, and i''m especially worried about the length. my biggest body concern with the dress is my arms because they''re beyond flubby--the muscle in them is fabulous (my cat weighed 30 pounds and i lugged her around for 15 years, haha), but imagine bodybuilder arms with a layer of blubber, and that''s what mine look like. how do i shrink them and lose fat on them? AHHHHHH!!!!! maybe i should just rent a tuxedo, too....i''m starting to get really discouraged because my excess meat diminishes where i want to keep it and stays where i want to lose it!!!

Hi all! I have been MIA today since I am with FI this weekend, but anyway.

Gwen: My FI is the same way!! Except, I think he''s finally agreeing to me losing weight since he realizes it''s important to me, but it took me months to get him there. It''s not necessarily about self esteem, it''s about health. Practice LSAT didn''t go so well.
38.gif
I am still at the same score. Looks like I need to improve myself under timed conditions, not just doing the questions. I spent a while crying about it and FI got frustrated with me over being so defeatist about it. I just hate doing work not seeing it pay off.
39.gif
39.gif
It''s so frustrating, and I only have 2 weeks until the test. I really need to do well the first time. I guess I just have to keep working even though I just don''t feel like doing it anymore. I called today and confirmed and I''ve lost 2 inches on the bust, 4 on the waist, and 0 on the hips. Woo! Hips need to go!! But I looked at the size chart and it comforted me a bit, I still have some room to work with. It is too big in bust and waist, but fits exactly in hips right now so I can lose some more I believe. Thank you for the support as always Gwen!

Sum: I am glad Yoga went well for you!
36.gif
I''ve been trying to learn some Yoga on Wii fit, it''s fun. You are doing so awesome, and it is always great to hear it from someone like the teacher! Congrats on your progress and weight loss! How was SATC?

mjso: That''s some good advice about the walking. Especially the bathroom thing, hadn''t thought of that! Your Mom has the right idea. I was just so silly. Hehe.
5.gif
Wow that''s a lot of water!!
6.gif
I am jealous, don''t think I could do that. Haha! Well, hopefully you can start dress shopping soon. You could at least get an idea of what styles you like. Then again, that''s how I got into my position.

MajorGroove: Hello!! My Mom is currently doing WW! She loves it. She''s lost about 12 lbs so far I believe. It''s working really well for her so far. I am thinking about doing it online. Are you doing it online or in the center? By the way, if you want the recipe I have this awesome WW oven-fried chicken recipe that FI and I absolutely

. The breading is mostly based on corn flakes so it''s yummy, but not bad! Plus you can get a healthy oil in that way I believe.

doodle: It totally is, it''s so mean. Sigh. I just feel like anytime someone compliments me (other than family and FI of course) there''s a "but" there. Maybe I imagine it, but I''ve flat out heard it at least once. That sounds like fun! I think our wedding might be alcohol free, we''ll see. I am not sure. I don''t drink a lot, although I did this weekend for me. But for me drinking a lot was having 3 drinks on a Saturday night. And FI drinks even less. He only drinks like once every few months max. And our families don''t drink much either, so what''s the point? Not a lot of our friends at the reception. So why pay so much for alcohol? I really don''t want people getting drunk at my wedding, but maybe I''m too harsh. Hehe. Hopefully people will respond respectfully like you and your FI did! Oh noo! Do you know of any other arm exercises? There''s bound to be something you can do! Don''t get discouraged! That is awesome about your dress, and horrible. I think the same thing will happen to me. Well I hope and hope it won''t. So I am totally feeling you there!! Are you getting it altered soon?

Well I did okay on food, but not great. Then again I am in the virtually healthy foodless apartment. Haha. I kind of blew it around dinner. I was upset about my average LSAT score, so I decided to drink a daiquiri. Then I drank a rum and coke, and then a Mike''s Hard Lemonade. Which for me, is a lot because I don''t drink a lot.
6.gif
37.gif
So anyway none of that could have been healthy.
3.gif
Oh well, I''m going home tomorrow and will start over. FI''s been trying to cheer me up a bit. He thinks I can do anything, so he doesn''t get it 100%. It''s nice to have people that believe in me so much, I just need to match their investments I suppose when it comes to standardized tests. I do fine everywhere else. Sorry to go into therapy mode, haha! On a happier note: how was everyone''s Saturday night?

I''m doing it at the center, because the weigh-ins keep me honest!

I think there''s something about sitting in a room full of other people who have struggled like I have that helps me when I''m feeling pessimistic about reaching my goal. Also, people share recipes and tips and tricks that have worked for them, so that''s cool. The only downside is that the only meeting I can make it to right now is the one on Saturday at 8 AM
32.gif
and I very much value the few days that I can sleep in. Ah well, it builds character, right?

That chicken recipe sounds totally awesome. . .I''d love it if you''d share!
