0.75mm halo vs 1.00mm halo

Just picked out the perfect ring! Having a custom setting made, and when talking about the halo, the jeweler recommended 1.00mm diamonds around the halo, vs the 0.75mm that were in the "model" we were using. He said it'll show more of the diamonds, rather than metal.

Does anyone have any thoughts on that? Is 1.00mm too large for halo diamonds? I don't want to take away from the center diamond (1.12 ct).

For comparison, does anyone happen to know what size halo is used on the DeBeers Aura single halo?

Also, the original ring tapers from 2mm at the bottom to 1.6 at the top. He suggested doing 2mm to 1.8 for strength. I was hoping to go as thin as possible at the top of the band. Should I ask that it be kept at 1.6?

1mm is actually pretty small for halo diamongs. Pointers (.01CT) are 1.3MM and are commonly used in halos. SInce you have a somewhat small center stone, if you want delicate, you could go a little smaller, but probably not smaller than 1MM in my opinion.

For the shank, are you doing pave? If so, 1.6 is really small. Frankie just went from 1.8 (which is still pretty small) to 1.75 and does not recommend going any thinner.:

I'm actually doing plain shank, which is why I wanted to go as small as possible. But the basket is also very similar to the one you sent me ( not as elaborate), but the classic style where all four "legs?" Meet at the middle -- so I understand the jeweler's concern with going too small.

She has a size 6 (short) finger. 5.75 maybe. Do you think it will still look dainty and feminine on her at 1.8? That's all I care about.

As an example, this is essentially the exact look I was hoping for (once the wedding band is in its place!). Think 1.8mm and 1mm halo diamonds will look like that?
