I will order 5 stone shared prong ring from WF (Thank you Gypsy!) but I can't really decide whether I should order 0.5 ctw or 0.75 ctw.
My ringsize is 3.5 ( I better go 3.75 with two rings). My e-ring is 0.85 carat with 6mm band (top). Any idea or pictures? Please help :loopy:

I think 10 pointers (.5) will almost be too big, and i definitely would not do the .75 unless you are wearing it alone. I have a 7 stone band with stones a little over 10 points and I think it is okay with my 1.6, but I much prefer my thinner sparkly Legacy band with it. I'll try to post some pictures.

YAY! I'm happy you are going with a reputable vendor. I also prefer the ring Diamond Seeker picked out. 7 seven stones has a lot of presence. I used to have a ring with exactly that and it was a great size (it's now a DBTY necklace) and I think with your set it's a nice compliment. Your setting has much more presence since it is wider and taller than DS's so I think yours will look great with this band.

Oh, yes, Gypsy is right that my thinnest band would not look right with your wider e-ring! Sorry I missed that part!

I am planning to wear that alone all the time and two rings together for special occasion. I think 7 stone ring will look great with e-ring and 5 stone will look great by itself. It is very hard to make a decision without trying them on!!!

Ahhh, I see! And I will totally agree with you that it is sooo hard to decide without being able to try things on!!!

Well, my decision changes knowing that information!!! I wear my band with 10 pointers alone all the time! My favorite setting is the one pictured below (from Brian Gavin). You have such tiny fingers that 5 10-pointers might work for you, because my finger is 5.5. You'd probably have to get a quote to have this ring made, but any of the vendors should be able to do a yellow gold band with basket settings.

That's an easy fix. Go you a Hearts on FIre or Memoire or even a Scott Kay dealer near you and try on bands. Tell them you are thinking about buying a band soon, don't give them a timeline, tell them your budget is flexible and don't mention the internet. Just tell them you want to know what looks good and what doesn't so you can see if you can afford something now, or if you should save up.

That's all you need to do. I tried on bunches of bands when I got my setting. Plain, diamond, big stones, pave, engraved... until I saw them on I never knew what would work and what wouldn't!

I know it's hard in your size to find stock that works. But you can squint and use your imagination to augment the fit, and at least you will have the right sized diamonds on to see proportion.

Do you think 7 stone would not rub uncomfortably against my small fingers? BTW Thank you all for posting your picture and comment.

My 7 stone band (Memoire) is set extremely low so it would not rub my fingers if it wrapped around farther. You have to ask for a very low setting for it to even look right when you wear it with another ring. Some of the girls here had ID Jewelry make them bands, and they asked for a super low setting. That is what I'd do.

This is a good example of a low set 5 stone band.

My ring size is 3.75 and I have a 5 stone 0.75ctw. I wouldn't pair it with a 0.85 solitaire personally, I think it would overwhelm it. I had a band with 7 pointers and I think that would be better, although I really prefer thinner bands so my preference would be for 3 pointers probably. Since you want to wear it alone though, 7 pointers have a great presence.
