I need to decide between those sizes for a ring being made, and seeing real life examples (vs CAD) would be very helpful for me. Thanks!
at that size I don't know you would see a huge difference 2.5 mm is equal to 1/10 of an inch so very small/petite.
Both rings in the videos are US size 7.5. Top is a 1.88 ct H&A round in a cushion halo with band width of just under 2 mm. Bottom is a 3.08 ct H&A round in a solitaire with band width of just under 2.5 mm. The diamond melee are all H&A rounds.
My side stones were round; they are ~2.7mm but am posting because I did the “set them apart in a bezel” thing so maybe it is helpful. I almost went with “set them in a square in a kite orientation” like your kite orientation — kind of wish I had because it wasn’t quite right and I ended up resetting the stones, even though the original setting was quite nice..
Anyway for yours IMHO the smaller look like a ring with side stones and the bigger looks like a trilogy type ring. I like the smaller stones but it depends on on taste.
