Hello,
Recently purchased this stone after making a few previous threads in rocky talky.
https://www.adiamor.com/Diamonds/2.51-ct-D-VVS2-Excellent-Cut-Emerald-Diamond/D43344583
2.5 D emerald 1.45 L/W ~9.45X6.5x4.3
My girlfriend (and I) really liked this simple knife edge setting from james allen that was our original plan (it will be duplicated to an extent).

However, we realized there would be a slight gap with the eventual wedding ring (probably a simple micropave/french cut like shown), the folks at adiamor provided this approximate picture. We are ok with that, but were curious about other options.
This was suggested to us. Basket style, but very thin and more round (here shown with a round stone). I presume the basket setting allows the strength to be set up high.

Questions: Will a basket setting affect the light play and sparkle? The diamond I chose has a pretty darn good aset with just a hair of 'see through' on one facet. It seems from the link above and the 'real' stones they have set in it, you basically can't see the 'cross prongs' of the basket from the top or a top-side angle. Any downsides with the basket style? Any other thoughts are welcome.
