Is this diamond a keeper or should my friend keep looking?

My bestie and her fiancé are diamond shopping and they have been offered this stone. The HCA score is 1.4, but unfortunately the GIA cert doesn't give much more info.

They are being quoted £2610 which is roughly $3530.

Can we do better? I keep raving about this forum and how helpful it has been for us but they are both working crazy hours and are not 100% convinced that I am not a bit nuts

Their max budget including the setting is £3000 / $4000. We are in the UK so if we order from the US we have to allow for 20% VAT and duty. She wants a platinum four prong Tiffany style setting, ideally at least a 0.7, eye clean and would consider H and above.

Im looking around but I am nowhere near confident in my skills so any suggestions gratefully appreciated! Cheers! :)

Would much prefer the crown angle to be at 34 degrees up to 34.8 with a pavilion angle of 41 degrees. Do you have any photos of the stone they are being offered?

Your friends could consider ordering from Blue Nile to have a single price inclusive of VAT.

Hi @bmfang

She doesn't have any photos.

The ones I am finding are mostly at WF or JA. Do you see one at BN that you'd recommend?

Both of these stones are beautiful. The G VS2 is a beautifully cut stone in my books.

You would have to step up to the Astor range in Blue Nile to get something equivalent to the WF ES stones in my books. But that might mean shelling out more for less.

More for less is not an option

My friend is one of those dedicated, hard working people who will put the needs of her loved ones before her own. She does so much for her family and friends and I really want to help find her an AMAZING diamond because she totally deserves it. =)2

Hey BrimstoneTwo, so what is your actual budget?
$4000 all in, /1.2 to allow for VAT leaves ~$3333 budget, then about $1k for the ring, leaving roughly $2340 for the diamond? That puts the WF stone very much out of budget. Correct me if I have misunderstood.
This is within budget and eyeclean from the video

Also being in the UK HPD allow for you to view their diamonds in London:

Their diamonds are vetted and eyeclean so you can be safe going to SI2

Hi @gm89uk

Good point! Yes, their budget is £3000 all in.

Both of the HP diamonds show as on hold. :(.

Is the H&A image of concern on the Enchanted one?

It's not superideal cut, but has stellar light performance. If I get chance I'll try find alternatives but it's a great option

https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD09206859 Just need to note it has strong fluoro and if ok with that, need to make sure there is no negative effect on the stone.
