I was told that color change sapphires do amazing things under a blacklight so I ordered a little blacklight flashlight. It came today and I can''t stop playing with it. I think everyone needs one! I''ve been checking all my jewelry to see which stones have florescence. One of my baguettes on my ER as well as a few mele have some. It''s funny to see just a few stones glowing blue. As far as the color change sapphire goes..................it glows a very bright magenta/pink! I''m pretty sure I''m going to be in the closet the rest of the afternoon playing with my jewelry, LOL!

That is so cool! I have always thought I would want a blacklight if I had flourescent stones. I am also fascinated by this color change gem concept. What other lights make it change?

It''s great fun!

Really you need a UV with a longwave button and a shortwave button. Some stones fluoresce under only one sort of wave length, some under none and some with both. They can show different colours under different wavelengths as well.

Have you tried it in a really dark room? Some stones have phosphorescence as well and will continue glowing (from seconds to hours) after the UV is switched off.

I tried it on the diamonds in my channel setting - only two changed coloured though.

The Aurora coloured diamond collection has a UV light which they turn on every other minute. It''s incredible the colours that they can go.

Just don''t put it anywhere near where the cats do their business...you won''t wanna see that!!!

Ellen, I ordered it from amazon.com.

It''s amazing the way certain stones change. My pink sapphires glow an amazing red. And the rubies in my new ring glow a neon red.

I''ve looked at my jewelry under a blacklight and it is so fun to see color changes. Several of the melee in my ER turns blue but one is orange! From what I have read, you don''t want your diamond to have orange flourescence, but I can''t seem to remember why, but it''s just one tiny melee diamond and I still think it''s kinda cool!
