Your favorite men's fragrances?

I need a gift for someone and am looking for new ideas. Something light and fresh, maybe citrusy (along the lines of Chrome by Azzaro or Aqua di Gio, maybe).

(Are there any nice scents that have some pine in them?)

And/or just tell me your own favorites (and least favorites).

Thanks.

DH wears Aqua di Gio cologne--it smells heavenly on him!

Thanks Mom. You might want to look into Chrome if you love Aqua di G. What do you think of the women's version of Aqua - Acqua Di Gioia? For me, it doesn't quite work.

Chanel pour Monsieur is very nice.
Jack Black JB is also light and citrusy.

For winter my dh's favorite is Atien by Atien. Sadly it is no longer made but you might be able to snag some on ebay. My dh bought up as much as he could LOL when he found they were going out of business.

One of my favorites for my dh is Green Irish Tweed by Creed.

Grapefruit by Jo Malone. Light, sexy, citrus, masculine.
Back in the olden days BC (Before Child), when we went out for dinner and hubby would put that on, we would barely make it out the door. Ahem.

I like black orchid and tobacco vanille (both Tom ford)

Ooh, I love these also! The tobacco vanille especially is so good! I think women can wear these as well...

DH wears Clinique Happy
I wear D&G Light Blue

DH also wears Chrome and Aqua Digio :naughty:

Dh and I are a Chanel family. I use Chanel chance/Chanel mademoiselle and DH uses Bleu de Chanel. He smells so goooood. For winter he uses Gucci by Gucci, smells woodsy. He used aqua di gio for a while but my dad started using it and I don't really wanna associate the smells together. Hahaha

But Bleu de Chanel is amazing

I have given Hugo Boss to my DH, and we both love the subtle fragrance. It is manly, kind of woodsy, and not at all cloying or heavy. You have to get near him to smell it. I can't deal with the guys who you can smell coming from a mile away, or who leave a 'wake' behind them.

Most of the stuff out there makes my eyes burn, my nose twitch, and my sinuses clog up. But then, I also hate heavy, cloying women's fragrances. It's air pollution. We can smell good without sucking all the available fresh air out of a room.

I like Jovan Musk and Halston Z14.
I know . . . old school.

Ha hahha noooo let me dieeeee! Hahaha

My current favorite men's fragrance is Guerlain's Homme - it is a woodsy fragrance with a splash of citrus & green notes - not too heavy, not too light - it works great with DH's chemistry - we both love it on him!

HI:

No recommendations for anything light I am afraid...all the Creed (Royal Oud, Adventis, Original Santal), Tom Ford (Tobacco Vanille) and Bois (Sushi Imperiale) fragrances have concentrated essentail oils and tend to be "strong" and therefore lasting. I adore them all.

The only fragrance that I bought DH recently that was "fun/light" was the Burberry Brit Summer--but that was a limited edition. I wore it too!

cheers--Sharon

DH doesn't wear cologne b/c he's smell sensitive. I miss it!

But I will say, I have always and WILL always continue to go absolutely nuts when I smell Victoria's Secret Very Sexy for Him (the original) on a man. My husband has worn it for me a few times on VERY special occasions and, well, it works much like JaneSmith's DH's Grapefruit by Jo Malone. :naughty:

Sharon- sounds like we like some of the same ones. DH's favs right now are Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (OMG- I LOVE this one- it's soooooo sexy), Creed's Adventis, and Five o'clock au Gingembre by Serge Lutens (another yummy, spicy scent).

I love Mugler Cologne. I can't stand the smell of Angel, but love Cologne and use it even though it's for men :rodent:

Cool! I didn't know SL had a men's line....must check it out!! Thanks!

cheers--Sahron

Issey Miyake! I feel it is similar to chrome and acqua di gio.

In reverse order:

Miller Harris Nouvelle Collection Vetiver Bourbon

Diptyque Vetyverio

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

Vétiver de Guerlain

I seem to do pretty well if I buy DH something by Armani. Currently it's Acqua di Gio. Also, Emporio Armani, because we're both fans of good industrial design.

He couldn't care less what he wears, just as long as I like it, so I just pick what smells good to me. :naughty:

It's unisex. =)

This is a great thread...I am keeping note of some of these suggestions for SO! Currently he has a bottle of something by Usher. Funny story when he first showed me the bottle, it smelled overpowering and way too strong. Then he started using it all of a sudden and it didn't smell so bad! It actually smelled really :naughty:. I always find it so interesting how body chemistry can change a fragrance. I am usually pretty game for all men's fragrances though, they all have that same sultry smell to me hehe.
