This isn't meant to be political (because it's not), and perhaps this is breaking the rules, but I see it as merely increasing awareness of what should be a very serious concern for every single American. Ignorance is not bliss.

It's long, but I encourage the educated women and men of PS to take a look: Government Cover-up?

I read that as well. It''s horrifying and I''m ashamed to be a citizen of a country that would cover up such a horrible crime.

Unfortunately, yes, it IS political. I can only BE political. I suppose you can try to get that piece read, but any comments on it are going to be pretty iffy. Good luck.

Yes, we should care.

But, not for what your linked article says.

The fact is that we don''t know how much truth is in what it reports. Likewise, we don''t know how much truth their really is in the original unredacted report.

The reason we should care is that we don''t know the truth on what happened - and that we can''t trust our goverment to tell us the truth. This applies to many things the government does.

It is this lack of trust that creates the issue.

Sure, it''s political. But really, it''s about humanity.

Nobody who is a part of the military comes forward with such a secret unless it''s true. Ask any military personnel...you just don''t speak out against your superiors. Too much is at risk. I''m not saying every word is true. What I''m saying is, let''s get some Congressional hearings and find out what did happen.

I am outraged and disgusted that our government is 1. holding innocent people; 2. not charging them; 3. not holding trials; and 4. men end up dead. As an American, I feel my country has disgraced itself.

Sorry if I''m crossing lines.

I''m actually a little shocked at the PS apathy. "When even government sponsored torture, murder, and cover ups of murder get little more than a collective yawn, we should be very frightened of what we have become." Don''t you think?

I doubt the PS community is apathetic about it. I bet people are avoiding commenting because the thread can (and similar threads have) go sour pretty fast.

How dare you tell me what I "should" do, with an angry emotie... I am not commenting either way on the topic at hand, but I really don''t think that anyone should tell anyone else how they "should" think or feel about topics that are so NOT cut and dry.

I read the article, but I thought we weren''t supposed to talk politics, so I''ll keep my thoughts to myself.

If it''s about the government (which I am not a big proponent of BTW) how can it not be political?
I have my thoughts and ideas but the PS rules specifically state"NO POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS ALLOWED"
There are plenty of other forums where this would be appropriate to discuss.

It's because it's a political thread and such threads are no longer allowed here.

ETA: We were all posting at the same time about it being against the rules, sorry didn't mean to repeat.

Lots of people read that article. Unfortunately this is not the place for it. Don''t feel bad, I posted a political ''name'' the other day w/o thinking, too late to edit, oh well

A. Don''t tell others what they should care about. Whether it''s political or not.

B. Don''t post political stuff on PS.

C. There are many other forums to discuss, with like-minded individuals - - or cuss and discuss with those who disagree. This isn''t one of those.

i don''t mind political discussions as long as people don''t get their feelings hurt.
