Flyfisher got a job! Hooray! He''ll be in Boston right near my mother and my grandparents, so someone will be able to fuss over him when I''m not there, and he''s doing something he likes.

A close second is that my grandparents want someone to live in the house this summer to take care of it and the dog while they go boating, and have offered it to us for the grand price of yardwork, housework, dog upkeep, and gas.

..which means I get to see him for another few months before I''m off to Africa!

Now if only I could just get a callback on the summer jobs I''ve applied to (shuts gift horses mouth and looks shameful)

it was very sweet of them, although I will say that that house is a JOB--oi. It used to be a cider mill, then a home, and now they are renovating and the dust gets so bad the poor dog has to get bathed once a week. I am happy that we will be moving in a month before they leave so we can sit on my grandfather and keep him from lifting too many heavy objects. That's what young backs are for! Why he tries to haul around boulder mystifies me....

Has he come to terms with the "not saving the world a.s.a.p" thing yet -- or is this job a "world-saver"???

Deco: well, he came to grips with it by virtue of the fact that the "evil" consulting corp turned him down

---probably because he got in a spat with their VP...

However, this is the Harvard "global health initiative post-bac fellowship" (whew, I get tired just typing it--and no, I'm not exactly sure what the heck he's going to be doing) and he apparently seems to think it will be "world-saving" enough for him.

Let's hope so, I don't deal real well with angst!

The re-set SHOULD be sent home to me from cherrypicked by the end of the week. I'm hoping it gets here in time for my birthday on Thurs. I want my ring back!
