I am interested in buying an older Cartier Trinity ring - without the name engraved on the outside - in size 50. I prefer the smaller size that is 2.9 mm wide but might settle for the classic version that is 3.5 mm. I'm looking to spend about $550-600.
I have but they are all branded on the outside, most with "Les must de Cartier" and a few newer ones with just "Cartier". The older rings that have the branding engraved on the inside only are harder to come by.
I'm having a hard time finding one without a name on the front so I may be willing to buy the smaller size ring that simply says "Cartier" on the front (rather than "Les Must de Cartier")... The ones in good condition that are currently listed on eBay are around $750 and for that price, I'd just as soon buy a new one.
I've been looking at the trinity rings in a larger size. Most are the 3.4 width, at $750 (give or take, mostly higher with the occasional lower price), which is about half the new price for that size. The 2.9 mm ones don't seem to be that common and the prices seem to be similar to the prices of the wider ones. Oak Gem has the narrower one (but they say 2.6 mm) for $650 and the classic one for $850 in my size. Found a classic one on Etsy for $700.
Don't know if you've tried Ruby Lane, am not sure what there might be there.
I saw that - such a pity! There was a ribbed one that just sold on 1stdibs.com, as well (in the wrong size). What size/specs are you looking for? I'll keep my eyes open for you, too...
58. There are several candidates available at "reasonable" prices (but no bargains). I just haven't decided for sure that I want one and there's nowhere near that I can try one on. It's a "want" rather than a "need."
Offer #4 is mine! It was just accepted but rather than feeling elated, now I'm a bit anxious since they don't accept returns! I should have it by the end of next week or the beginning of the following week... I never imagined I would buy jewelry sight unseen, let alone without a return option.
Just a side note, I was able to size my mom's trinity ring up after she passed. Of course I had to pay for three ring sizings and I took it to my trusted jeweler. Good luck.
I received the ring and love it! Attached is a belated picture. (I took it to Cartier to get it engraved inside, which took two weeks as they had to send it to New York.) I just shift the "Cartier" name so it is on the underside of my finger and will wear it rather than my wedding set on weekends and when traveling.
That's great that you were able to find one on eBay and now--- it looks just PERFECT on your hand!! Very nice - very happy for you, you found your trinity!!
