With all this hand washing, are you still wearing your rings?

I take my rings off to wash my hands, and when I’m in the house, I don’t wear them anyway.

I couldn’t go bra less with my DD’s

What is that?????

I still wear them since my office is open, but I do take them off while washing hands.

Con of isolation-- I lost a bit of weight and now my ring is super loose lol! It now tends to slide down to the very base lol.

I’m still wearing mine. I’m a nurse so all this hand washing is the norm for me

@Tonks, thanks for the Enso recommendation. We work out a lot and trying to find matching silicone rings that also comes in my size (size 3) has been impossible until now! Definitely grabbing a few.

Am I the only person who wears jewelry around the house to please myself?

That could mean I just wear a solitaire, to enjoy it on it's own, or I layer up rings, necklaces, bracelets. Whatever I feel like at the moment.

Rings and bracelets do come off if I'm doing cleaning or work around the house.

I don’t wear jewelry to please anyone but me. It’s just for me, at home, I prefer being bare. But when I’m out I get joy wearing my bling. Just don’t wear it at home. Doesn’t mean I wear bling for others because I don’t.

Could be because I’m klutzy though. I might hurt someone (me) with it lol.

I don't wear my ring at home so given that I am home more often recently, I've stopped wearing my ring.

You're not alone! I wear a ring, (will switch it out for variety) when I'm on the computer, watching tv...whenever I'm just hanging out at home. Which is a lot right now! Just pleasing to see a little sparkle during such a stressful time. I don't wear one when cooking, cleaning, or exercising.

Look at the Elements collection. Mine is the thin Elements in silver and it is fantastic.

Yes!

I clean my hands constantly during the day and at least once a day I take off my diamond ring and hit it with the steamer. There are just too many nice personal sized steamers on the market for this not to be a good option for those of us addicted to our sparkle.

One a week or so, I take my ring off, soak it in the ultrasonic, steam it, buff it, soak it and steam it again. A sparkly diamond is just too much of a joy not to keep clean and sparkly. If you do not have a buffing machine, (no good home models that I am aware of, and they make a HECK of a mess if you do not have a self vacuuming model), just go by your favorite jeweler's store and ask them to clean and polish your ring(s).

People on the street are constantly commenting on my ring, and I have to admit, it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when a perfect stranger comments on my sparkle.

Wink

I love wearing my rings at home even if it is just me. Makes me happy!!

I was just wondering about this earlier today. I am just wearing a plain platinum band for the time being. I wash my hands obsessively now so I really don't want anyone admiring my rings. My hands will scare them away. Plus, my solitaire looks dull when I put on hand sanitizer, which I do every time I get in the car, and dull diamonds make me sad. :cry2:

Took some time out of my day for a ring. Who knew?

ive desided to go the opposite

im a terrible nose rubber - i have allergies and i touch my face including my nose like 72 times a minute
i read if you do something different with your fingers it can help
i very rearly wear rings around the house
i thought i better not wear anything too good
So this is just peridot and white sapphires in silver from the mall
i actually really love it and would have brought it in white gold and diamonds if it had been available

but most importantly it really hurts if i rub my nose with it :mrgreen2:

one day i will get your help to buy MM diamonds to sub out the sapphires

Right now im thinking it's so shinny now but wll need to be cleaned every day 15845884904471633181925.jpg

Good idea, Daisy D, to wear ring on dif hand as reminder not to touch face. Someone else mentioned using scent so you'd smell it as your hand approached face.

I've stopped wearing my rings with all the handwashing! I usually take them off at home but recently had kept them on to enjoy.

My usual routine is to wear rings out but take off at home. I always wear kitchen gloves when cleaning and rings just feels odd under gloves. When I have rings on I feel aware of them...like I have to be careful. I do leave on other jewelry and when I'm not being busy at home I sometimes put rings back on because I like them. Because I wear rubber gloves for house cleaning and lotion gloves at night (not always but yes now!) my hands are not suffering too much from extra washing.

Naked fingers!

I switched out all my pave rings lol. Solitaires and bands!
I also have a new honker of a diamond pendant that makes putting away some of my finger bling more bearable ;)

Rings are off with all the hand washing, and subsequent lotion due to dry hands. Compensating with earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.

I’m not wearing any jewelry when I leave the house. I plan to stay in for the next week though so maybe then

For now I’m either rocking a bare finger or a silicone ring. If anyone needs a silicone ring recommendation, btw, Enso is the bomb.

@Tonks thank you for the rec!
I love shopping online and thanks to your recommendation here I got an Enso ring. I wore it to PT this morning and it's perfect for lifting weights etc. And it's so pretty too.

Sorry my hands are red and irritated from all the hand washing.

And I might have just ordered 8 more rings (so many pretty patterns and colors and I got us matching penguin rings haha)...3 for my DH and 5 more for me. :shhh:

im not going to worry too much about cleaning my 'don't touch face ring'.
i completely forgot the peridot has a window and that's why i hardly wear it

Ooh, pretty and functional, @missy !

Which color is that? I really like it!

I keep thinking about getting another one so I can switch. I wear mine embarrassingly often. I started with two of the stackables, and they’re ok. They are thin enough that sometimes they turn around in my martial arts classes and that bothers me. I vastly prefer the thin Elements. If I get another it will be that same width. The rose gold, maybe?

I think it's peacock. I ordered the thicker rings as I want to wear them in place of a wedding ring and ER and thicker looks better on me when I wear just one ring.

Yesterday I ordered 2 penguin rings (one for me and one for my DH lol) and I also got 2 light blue rings (one for me and one for yup you guessed it-my dh) and one beautiful blue for my dh (they were out of it for me in my size) and a few others... here are the 8 the rings I ordered.

Hummingbirds...isn't this lovely? I love the colors and design.

And 2 light steel blue matching ultralight rings

This one is for my DH. They didn't have it in this color in my size or I would have gotten it because I LOVE this color.

I think this one is so fresh. Love the pattern and the simple colors.

IDK why I got this one but I guess I was nostalgic for snow of which I cannot remember if we got any this past winter. Maybe back in November in the fall 2019 but I cannot remember if we got any snow this winter at all.

and finally the matching penguin rings

I hope all the rings ship because the order has not yet been fulfilled and I wouldn't be surprised if some of them sell out. Some of the other rings I wanted to get were already sold out so we shall see what arrives.

Just read an article about how germs/bacteria can stay on rings, so am considering to stop wearing any rings for a while.

A 2018 study from researchers at Georgia State University found that when healthcare providers wore rings to their jobs, the area where the rings sat on their skin provided "a protected area in which bacteria can flourish," the researchers wrote. They also found that people who didn't wear rings and washed their hands were able to kill more germs than those who wore rings.

Definitely will miss the bling and the pleasure I get from their sparkle/color, but I’ve just dug out some bracelets, pendants, and earrings to give myself some daily joy. I actually stopped wearing my colored stones on the other hand a few weeks ago, but with the situation worsening, it feels like it’s time to do a little bit more and stop wearing my diamond ring as well.

Take care everyone!

So the Enso rings came and we love them. Greg is impressed at how comfortable they are! Me too. Thank you again @Tonks!
