With all this hand washing, are you still wearing your rings?

Curious if everyone is still wearing their rings. I took mine out of the ultrasonic the other day and could not believe the soap residue. And then last night I noticed that I’ve got peeling skin on my ring finger (under my wedding set), probably from trapped water from all the handwashing. I think I‘m gonna take mine off for a bit. It has also occurred to me that rings, unless regularly sanitized, are really a hotbed for germs and virus.

Anyone else?

My hands are rough and a bit swollen from scrubbing everything around me. I've cleaned my rings and put them away but I hope to be able to wear them again when things calm down.

I'm looking at bangle bracelet (specifically OEC resets) here on PS and on Pinterest and Instagram. Curious to know if people who have had their stones set into cuffs are leading the fashion!

Yeah. I’m still wearing them though I’ve been switching between my ER and just a single a thick diamond band. But that is for PT ease not Covid-19.

I only wear my rings when I’m out. In the house I never wear any jewelry.

Sigh. Those facets, Missy! Gorgeous.

I am still wearing mine, though haven't been wearing anything except my plain wedding band (which I've never removed) when in the house and over this weekend. Usually my rings are on 24/7 or only come off at bedtime or to be cleaned, going straight on as soon as I dress. My hands have never needed so much lotion!

Nope. The only jewelry I'm wearing now is my medic alert bracelet. It happens to be 14k yellow gold, but it also provides info. Rings were a hassle with all the handwashing, and I was worried that bacteria might get trapped, or form under them.

Still wearing them. My arthritic knuckles would protest mightily if I had to take them off every time I wash my hands. Maybe I should invest in the cliq hinged thingy.

Please be careful using hand sanitizer with your jewellery. I can only imagine the effect anti bacterial gels may have on stones!

I used to take my rings off to wash my hands...but the news keeps emphasizing that virus can live on surfaces, and I thought it made no sense to wash my hands without sanitizing my rings, which, let’s face it, I’m just not gonna do every time.

So. For now I’m either rocking a bare finger or a silicone ring. If anyone needs a silicone ring recommendation, btw, Enso is the bomb.

Since I won't be seeing anyone for a couple of weeks, my hands are naked. Figured better to give those diamonds a rest from alllllllllllll of the soap :lol-2:

no I'm not.

@missy I never wear jewelry at home either- or a bra!

OK so I admit it...sometimes I don't wear a bra even when leaving the house. Not often because who doesn't need a little pick me up (at least at my age) but I just love the feeling of no bra. Even the most comfortable bra isn't as comfortable as no bra for me. #smallboobs

Lol! I hate bras! I am larger than a d cup, but I still do it for quick stuff. Multiple layers and a loose cardigan for quick runs to the store! I like the wireless bras the best. They are way better than they used to be.

HI:

I almost never wear my rings, anywhere. I just forget to put them on.

cheers--Sharon

I’m sticking to rings with less pave! Lol. So solitaire rings with diamonds or gems I know don’t mind soap!

I'm not really going too many places and def. not to dinner (which is when I wear the most ) so no, not wearing it. Maybe if I'm in the house without anything else to do I will.

I guess now would be a good time to find everything, and give it all a good cleaning, and store it away?

I take my rings off to wash my hands, and when I’m in the house, I don’t wear them anyway.

I couldn’t go bra less with my DD’s

I don't think is gonna hurt diamonds.

I haven't been wearing any jewelry. My doctor friend said germs and virus can get trapped in the settings, coronavirus especially likes metal. The upside of this is, when this is all over, my engagement ring will look and feel huge!

I normally only wear my 2mm plain band...I am not going out much but I am only wearing my 5 stone then and I do take it off to sanitize/wash my hands however it is taken off as soon as I get home and my hands get washed again...my cuticle are so dry they are cracking....so much hand cream lol

I am. I always take my rings off before I wash my hands (and before I visit the necessary).

No, stopped about 3 weeks ago. Too much washing and disinfecting, the feeling that the area under the rings won't get clean and the lotion that sticks on the rings.. .

I stopped in the past week or two. The constant hand washing and sanitizing, plus not wanting to harbor germs in the settings, just made it easier not to wear rings. I still wear earrings and pendants.
