This is what we woke up to this morning..........................12 inches of snow! There''s nothing more beautiful [except maybe a diamond sparkly] than the morning sun shining on freshly fallen snow.

Catmom - was it really 12 inches by us?! Thats insane! My backyard is gorgeous...I''m having a hard time getting myself out of the house because I know once I get on the streets I"ll be cursing the snow and it is just really pretty. The first thing I did this AM was go out with my camera, however, it never looks as pretty in a picture as it does in person.

Wow! What a beautiful scene! Thanks for sharing

I''m way over here in So.CA, so it''s nice to see your white winter snow

Looks like a winter wonderland!!! We are having very unseasonably warm weather. It''s 60 degrees outside of Philly.

Blue824, I know what you mean. It was just so gorgeous outside that I had to go out and take pictures, too. I agree though, it never quite looks as good as it does IRL. We measured what was on my fountain[looks like a wedding cake] and my husband''s car[he left it outside!] and it was just shy of 12". Could have been drifting, though. I heard that Gurnee got hit the worst at 12.5". I would love to see your pictures!

Thanks, Sunkist. Always happy to share our snow with you poor deprived So. CAers. Really, you can come take it away now!!

Kaleigh, we have been having higher than normal temps here too. Maybe it''s coming your way???

OOOOHHHHH I love it!!!! I live in the South and we rarely get snow. I think it makes the world look majical and peaceful.

I''m in your neck of the woods, Catmom, but I think we only got about 6 inches out here. I hate snow but it does look pretty.

Kaleigh -- It should be headed your way next!

I''m too lazy to walk to the bench on the deck and messure how much is on it

My guess is like 8 or 9 inches?
Anyway, here is part of the backyard...I love when the snow is just untouched...its so pretty.

Our big trees are holding up just fine, but I''ve noticed some of the smaller evergreens are a little top heavy, one of the larger ones in the front has its top leaning down quite a bit...I hope they''re ok!

Oooooooo.........gorgeous, Blue!

Oh gorgeous pictures Catmon and Blue! 12 inches!!! Here in the sunny southwest we finally got some MUCH needed moisture in the form of a couple of inches of lovely snow on Thursday, but it is already beginning to melt away.
