I am leaving at zero dark thirty tomorrow morning for Pukon, Chile for two weeks of kayaking and R & R. I will try to check in and post some Wink In Chile photos from time to time.

It has been another great year here on Pricescope, but I am ready for a break and I do not know of anything in the world that charges my batteries like some serious kayaking time.

Wink

Wow Wink that sounds amazing! I''ve never done extreme kayaking (like in your avatar) but it looks like lots of fun. Hope you have tons of fun

OMG I love these adventures.

It's like waiting for the next 'Lethal Weapon' movie to come out.
Hurry with updates please, Wink.

I live my life vicariously through you Wink.

Poor Rich,

Your life is not as full as it should be then! Come to Idaho and I will teach you how to live it yourself! When I am old I will try vicariously, but at 59 I figure I have about 15 good years left before I even think about vicarious!

Wink

Wow John,

Thanks for posting those threads. On the pistol creek picture you can sort of see two rocks over which water is pouring. That is actually the route we took this year, right over the rocks as it gave us a better shot at avoiding the wall splat.

It looks in the picture like it would be a nasty drop, but the water level was a little higher this year and it turned out to be a GREAT line.

I am taking a digital this year, so as long as I can find a computor with a USB hookup I will be able to send some photos.

Wink

Oh, John! You really found a treasure! I never saw that thread that shows Wink kayaking down Main Street! That is priceless!!! How on earth did I miss it?

Deb :-)

How exciting! Have a wonderful time and take lots of pictures to share with us here on pricescope.

Deb - I found it while looking for his other adventures. Priceless is right!

Wink - If you can't find USB at least make sure you find some nice Chilean Wines. If you can beam some photos back here to the mother ship, even better.

Be safe.

Hmm, don''t have any pictures from last years trip with me, but here are a couple that are fun.

This is a travertine waterfall in Mexico that is overgrown with wonderful flowers. We slid down the very steep drop in the channels in the plants.

This is a little more picturesque and steep waterfall that we ran, also in Mexico.

This is my son, doing a real waterfall, a 40 footer in Oregon on the Little White Salmon.

and finally, my son in a hole in a rapid called Climax on the Main Payette near Horeshoe Bend, Idaho. This is one of my favorite photos of him, it was shot by famous kayak photographer, Grant Amoral.

That's it for now, more pictures and commentary about Chile to follow in a few days.

Wink, have a splashing time in Chile and keep safe and well. Make sure you bring back some fab action shots... we want to see them.

Dear Wink! Have a great time, you DESERVE IT! Yes lots of pics please!

Okay Rich, but the real thing is more fun.

It''s 4:27 here in Boise and I have wake up my lovely wife, Resa, and go to the airport now. It may be true that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, but waking your wife before 7 in the morning is a LOT harder than that first step!

Wink

Well...you won''t see this until you return fro Chile, Wink, but those shots of you and your son kayaking down waterfalls shocked me. I didn''t have a clue that "white water" could include a high waterfall. I would find it harrowing to be your wife because of what you do. I don''t know whether I could have survived my son''s growing up to do the same thing!
