Why Is The Library So Dead?

On PS that is. I know we have some avid readers here and I'd LOVE to get some new book recommendations and chat about what everyone is currently reading. Why do you think it died off over there?

I don't go there as often as I should because I do most of my book talk online on Goodreads.com and Twitter. I should pay more attention to The Library, though--I think PSers have exceptional taste in everything, books included.

It died because no one was frequenting it. When we had the book club going (yes, we had a book club), it was livelier. There were some core posters who checked that thread daily in the past, but when they started to find no one was writing anything there, they stopped. If some of you who didn't know it existed are interested, it may become lively again. I would love that. It used to be a lot of fun!

When we had a book club we chose one book a month (for a couple of months), all read it, then discussed it. The first book we read was the first detective story by Wilkie Collins and gem-oriented: The Moonstone. If I remember correctly, the second one we read was The Help, although there may have been another one in there. (Anyone can go check in The Library and see!)

A lot of Pricescopers are highly literate and articulate and this is a great group with whom to read and discuss books!

I would certainly participate! I tried a few posts over there a few months ago, to no avail, but I have gladly checked out PS-ers book recommendations when I come across them and would love to share what I am reading, too. I even tried to find a few people on Goodreads, but my detective skills are worthless, haha!

I do most of my book-related postings on other (non-PS) forums. I haven't checked the Library in months because weeks would go by before anyone posted or responded. It would definitely be worth reviving, though.
