With airline prices going sky high (pun intended) is anyone traveling for the holidays? Where are you going, for how long, and who are you visiting?

For me, I''m going to be heading to Tucson, AZ to meet my Future Grandparents In Law. I''m excited since my only living grandparent lives in the Philippines and this makes me feel like I have more grandparents now! I''ll be flying out of FL on Christmas Day and coming back on Sunday. It''s a very very short trip unfortunately, but I''m looking forward to meeting them!

Anyone else traveling like me?

Your trip sounds fun!! We aren''t going very far, just to FLA. We have a house there, and rent it for the winter season, our tenants are going home for thanksgiving, so we will be having a family vacay with our 2 kids who are in college. Can''t wait. Plus I have roofers here who are here at 8 AM pounding away....so can''t wait to get away for a few days.

That sounds awesome, Kaleigh! I live in St. Pete, Fl. Where is your winter home? The weather over here is wonderful! No more humidity!! You''re gonna love it!

Really?? We are in Del Ray. I have never been to St Pete but have heard great things about it. Yay for no more humidity... That's the one thing that I have too much of here, live outside of Philly. Humidity out the wazoo in the summer. Is it getting cooler?? I have no clue what to pack?? Last time we were there doing work on the house last October is was down right cool... I didn't pack a sweater and had to buy one. Go figure.

wifey2b is flying down from Canada to spend Christmas with me :}
the tickets have actually came down a little in the last few weeks.
I booked at $700 and it went up to $820 the next day and now its back down to $725

I know and am sooooo excited for you both!!! It's been a long time. NOW with my RL gift Card, I demand that you two spend long lunches and some sweet romantic dinners, just the two of you. If anything is left over deal with that later. But focus on Karen...Cause she's #1 in my book....

Will do and thank you!!!!

We were hoping to visit family for Christmas this year (our first being away from home), but tickets are too expensive. So it will just be the two of us (and our kitties). My family is coming down for Thanksgiving, though, so at least we''ll get to see them once during the holiday season.

Going to Vegas for Thanksgiving...can''t wait!

We''re just driving. Probably going from CT to western PA to visit my parents. We might also go to western NY to visit DH''s family, or his family might just join us in PA. I believe it''s about 7.5 hours to PA, so not that bad.

Not sure about Christmas yet. I''m fairly certain we''ll stay around here b/c everyone is heading to Oregon for Thanksgiving. I don''t want to have to travel twice.

BF and I are driving to his parents'' house for Thanksgiving, I''m flying to the Netherlands to visit my family the week before Christmas, and then we''re either driving to his parents'' house for Christmas or we''re staying here. Not sure about that yet...

We''ve tried for the past 2 years to go to France for Christmas but our airport got fogged in for 5 days, starting on our departure dates of course, so we stay close to home. For Thanksgiving we''re going to the Oregon coast; Christmas is at home; New Year''s is at a hot springs resort in California.

ahh so jealous!

We''re having Thanksgiving at my house this year (well my mom''s house) and then we are going to Chicago for Christmas- we have all our family (both parent''s sides) there.

Going to Scottsdale for Hubby''s company holiday party and then to Vegas for a couple of days to celebrate my 30th Birthday...I can''t wait!

the vast majority of my family''s in town, so for thanksgiving and christmas i''ll be staying here. after christmas i''ll go to texas for a few days to see FI, and we''ll probably be in austin for new year''s eve/day.

if i get a good enough excuse i might take advantage of a local airport''s $10 tickets to orlando deal (if they haven''t sold out already and if the return flight isn''t killer)

Kaleigh, I think you should pack a few sweaters. Unless you''ll be staying here for a few months of course! But we''re still wearing shorts down here! We maybe put on a light sweater during the nights though. Cause it does get a lot cooler when the sun goes down.

Karl, my FI and I are also LDR! I''m so happy for you that your wife2be will get to spend Christmas time with you! My FI will be coming down from WA to FL for Thanksgiving for a week and I''m excited! Then we''ll meet up in AZ for Christmas.

Zoe, I know what you mean about airline tickets! It''s crazy how the price just keeps shooting up to the roof! Even though you won''t be able to see your family for Christmas, at least you''ll be able to spend Thanksgiving with them!

Star Sparkle, Vegas for Thanksgiving sounds awesome!! Have fun!

Elrohwen, between you and your DH who drives more? Does he take over the driving most of the time? My FI prefers to drive so I just let him since I can''t drive for very long! Hopefully your DH''s family could join your family in PA!

MC, I feel you about the not traveling too much. I can''t wait til FI and I live together so that we don''t have to travel too much anymore!

Princess, Netherlands, I''m jealous! Sounds like you''re gonna have a very busy holiday season!

Matata, I want to go to a hot springs too!! Take me with you!

ILoveAsschers13, that''s so cool that everyone is pretty much in the same place! Less traveling!

FSU1227, have fun at Scottsdale! And Vegas afterwards...that''s awesome!! Enjoy your bday, my dear!! Can''t wait to see your new sparkly when you get it!!

Squirrly, cute avatar! That''s awesome that you''ll be able to see your FI for New Years! That''s one holiday my FI and I won''t be able to do together unfortunately! You and your FI LDR as well? I''m just being nosy!

I am so happy that all my family lives within a 25 mile radius. We alternate homes each year for the various holidays. My nephew and his new bride are hosting Thanksgiving this year and all the mom''s (me, my sister, niece''s mom, sister''s MIL) plus DD are helping her. We asked her to assign each one of us a job so that we will stay out of her hair as well, this being her first time ever hosting a big holiday. The guys will be glued to the tv set and staying out of our hair.

We have an open house the Sunday before Christmas and invite a lot of friends and some family that we won''t see on Christmas. Now that our family is growing it is getting harder to include everyone or even accomodate everyone''s wishes for being with them over the holidays. Christmas Eve this year will be my immediate family, my sister and her family (including her new DIL), and my dad. My dad is spending Christmas Day with us and the rest of the family goes their own way. DH and I don''t communicate with my IL''s anymore so I don''t care what they do.
