What do you think?

I didn't watch the whole thing but I saw a lot of the red carpet arrivals and the show itself.

There were so many dresses I LOVED: Natalie Portman's, Sandra Bullock's and Hailee Steinfeld's, just to name a few.

I also loved how understated the jewelry was this year. Gorgeous pieces but not over the top.

What did you think of James Franco and Anne Hathaway as hosts? I saw more of Anne than I did of James, and I thought she did a good job.

Honestly? I was more entertained by my cats throughout the evening...
The show dragged and dragged despite it's claim of being fast paced.
Anne and James just seemed awkward and their comedic timing was completely off.
And don't even get me started on Gwenyth Paltrow's singing....*cringe*

The best part? When it ended.

I watched about 10 minutes worth...the parts I saw with James and Anne were so uncomfortable I had to change channels  .

I loved Natalie Portman's dress (beautiful and glowing too), Halle Barry, Sandra Bullock, Resse (she looked cute) and Helen Mirren looked wonderful!

I didn't like Nicole Kidman's dress but did swoon over her Vintage Fred Leighton diamond choker, to die for. :cheeky:

I didn't like the hosts.

I liked Amy Adams's jewelry though!!

Watched very vaguely. What were Annette Benning's earrings made of? Some green stones...

Loved jewelry watching! So much fun!

James Franco looked stoned out of his mind, and poor Anne ended up trying to overcompensate and it kind of fell flat.

Loved the moment between Kirk Douglas and Melissa Leo, though! Most entertaining part of the evening (well, that and the guy that won live action short).

Anne Hathaway's so pretty, and she looked amazing in all of her dresses. I was slightly disappointed in James Franco.. i know he was probably nervous about his nomination, but he totally lacked his usual charisma.

I didn't watch the Oscars but just finished watching the red carpet and loved a number of dresses. Jennifer Hudson looked amazing as did Helen Mirren and Hallie Seinfeld. Also loved Reese Witherspoon's dress. Hated Nicole Kidman's dress. Made her look hippy and it was not flattering.

I loved Halle Berry's earrings! To die for!! If anyone has close up photos of her earrings to post so I could drool over them I would be most grateful!

I stopped watching about halfway through and instead just watched the Fashion Police Oscar episode...seriously the best critique of the dresses, the jewelry, etc, and Joan Rivers is scandalously funny.

I wasn't a fan of Anne and James as hosts, they just seemed awkward and were trying too hard. The hosts I usually like make it look much more effortless.

I couldn't stand Nicole Kidman's dress, but that necklace is TDF!

I was appalled at some of the hair though! Namely Scarlett Johanson and Marisa Tomei...so unpolished and unflattering!

I watched but I wasn't glued to the show like I usually am. We didn't see any of the nominated films this year, and I'm not at all a fan of James Franco. I think he's kind of weird. On the overall, the show just wasn't as exciting as it usually is. They should give hosting duties to people who can really carry the show through the dull points. This year, the pre-game show was better than the show itself.
