Stemming off of favorite singers and who we'd like to see in concert, who have you already seen, who was great and who not so much?

My first concert was Boys II Men. I was actually pleasantly surprised and still like them when they sing the right things (Mama, end of the road, silent night).

Hanson (embarrassing, though they have a few good songs. Save me is a nice song when you're feeling down)

Backstreet Boys (horrible)

Nsync - I actually had fun at this, mostly b/c I was in second row... yes... second row. I also got to meet Lisa Left Eye Lopez at this concert and am so glad I got to say hello and speak with her and have my picture taken with her, she was a really awesome person.

Bon Jovi - GREAT show

Aerosmith - AWESOME and Kiss opened for them, one of the best shows I've been to.

Chris Cagle - super entertaining guy, great songs!

Easton Corbin - before he was anyone... he opened for Chris Cagle at a local show.

Jeff Bates - good, but I only really liked a few of his songs

Craig Morgan - also very entertaining

Sister Hazel - I've seen these guys countless numbers of time, since it was a duo all the way till now. They put on a GREAT show, they are fun, funny, songs are awesome I could go on and on and on

Flogging Molly - Irish Punk. Don't ask. But it was insane fun.

Gosh got back into my memory:

Pink Floyd in the mid 1980'a AWSOME show

George Jones and Conway Twitty, mid 1990's, Ok show

all of these since 2003 cant remember all the dates lol

Tim McGraw, freaking Awsome

Big & Rich Amazing energy, love their concerts

Cowboy Troy, rocking show

Warren Brothers, decent concert

Brooks & Dun Ok show

Martina McBride, great performer

Alan Jackson, kinda of boring

Craig Morgan, pretty darn good

Jason Aldean, great show

Lady Antebellum, they put on a really good show

Faith Hill, pretty good show

Taylor Swift, kinda boring

As you can probably tell, I am a hugh country and western fan....I am sure I have left some out

diamond - I want to see most of those!!!

I forgot one... I saw Willy Nelson when I was younger. I didn't appreciate him enough then.

Luther Vandross with En Vogue
Fabulous show, flashy, lots of costume changes

Kanye West with Rhianna & Lupe Fiasco
AWESOME. Rhianna had awesome costumes and Kanye had some good graphic effects, but most impressive was he performed in jeans and a t-shirt, no back up dancers, no bling, less than a year after his mother passed away.

Maxwell
Wonderful. He had a good mix of old and new, as well as his cover on a variety of genres.

All of the concerts I've been to are country....I will also list who I've seen back stage and who I've molested (it's a mission of mine)...

Gary Allan (best shows ever!! especially the smaller venues) (totally molested--a whole bunch! and ended up on stage once)

Darryl Worley (emotional type show, not so "entertainy") (molested slightly)

Chad Brock (super fun!) (backstage too) (tried to molest me!)

Chris Cagle (very good!) (back stage) (big molestation! he and DH got along really well too)

David Lee Murphy (blah) (back stage)

Lonestar (wahoo!) (backstage)

Sawyer Brown (wahoo!)

George Strait (need I say more?)

John Michael Montgomery (nyah)

Tim McGraw (yum)

Faith Hill (blah)

LeeAnn Womack (blah)

Kenny Chesney (you've seen one, you've seen em all)

Montgomery Gentry (way too much hype)

Emerson Drive (alright)

Trace Adkins (wahoo!) (back stage) (oh yeah, molested)

Phil Vassar (pretty good)

Diamond Rio (lots of fun!)

Alison Krauss (not entertaining per se, but definitely worth it)

Martina McBride (nyah)

Those are all I can think of, so if I've see others--probably not so good!

Overall, country concerts are lots of fun, lots of drinking, lots of pals!

I still want to see Brooks and Dunn (before they're done) and Garth Brooks (looks like I'll have to go to Vegas).

I've seen a few.

Lady GaGa was unlike anything I have seen! She is really talented and entertaining.

Black Eyed Peas were very energetic.

Maroon 5...I LOVE them.

Jay-Z

Wyclef Jean...he was in the crowd and everyone was dancing and having a really good time!

I've seen others, but those are by far memorable.

I went to Britney Spears last year, for my friend's sake, who is OBSESSED with her, and...it was HORRIBLE.

The first concert I ever went to was Yanni. My parents dragged me (my dad specifically). I think I read a book the whole time. Blech. Would not recommend!

Let's see if I can remember

Poison/Britny Fox-my 1st in 7th grade
Kiss/Faster Pussycat/Slaughter (9th grade)
Skid Row/Pantera
Tesla/Firehouse
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
Ozzy/somebody I can't recall/Ugly Kid Joe
Metallica
Pink Floyd
Van Halen/somebody I can't remember

Those are the only ones I can remember offhand. I wish I'd saved all the stubs from them.

I'm bad at forgetting. How on EARTH did I forget seeing Jimmy buffett????? I think the tailgating was the best part HAHA

Same as the other thread- Nine Inch Nails!! Trent Reznor puts on an absolutely amazing live show!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Bee Gees
Elton John
Earth Wind & Fire
America
Air Supply
Spinners
Commodores
Eagles
Linda Ronstadt
Boz Scaggs

never got to see Chicago.. :((

Dang I did forget one I seen Garth Brooks back in the late 1990's now he puts on a great show :appl: I will also memtion that I seen Tim McGraw at a preparty concert I was about 2 feet from him  and my son has been pulled on stage twice buy Big Kenny of Big & Rich and he has a couple of sweet travel size custom fender guitars to play with....gosh I hate to see those guys split up, the are so awsome! OK I will shut up now....lol

My first concert was the Beatles in 1964. It was quite the experience.

The other really memorable one was Elvis in 1971. I wasn't even a big fan, but that was during his comeback years and he put on a really good show.

One of the worst concerts was Whitney Houston. Great voice, didn't give a darn about her fans and a big diva. People would come up with big bouquets of roses (so quite expensive) and she'd just dump them in a heap like they were garbage. And she kept griping about the humidifier and the sound. I was a big fan until that, and then not as much. This was before her Bobby Brown/drug years so I can't even blame the cocaine.

I had the viewing pleasure of seeing Nora Jones and Tori Amos, both at Jones Hall here in Houston, and all I can say is WOW!!! :o AMAZING! :appl: It was a very intimate setting and they are both absolutely PHENOMENAL musicians-I seriously felt like I was in my living room and they were playing live for me, totally had goosebumps! Two of the best shows I've ever seen!

Packrat--I like your style! I LIKE TO ROCK!!!

In the last year we've seen:

Black Crowes
Tesla
Collective Soul
Kiss
Train
A ton of local/regional bands--we usually see a live band 1-2x a week.

Woo hoo Monnie! We could rock out together!

That's a pretty good list of whom I wish I had seen along with The Beatles, James Taylor and Michael Jackson.

The only concerts I go to are for classical piano.
Martha Argerich
Wojciech Kocyan
Radu Lupu
Emanuel Ax
Alfred Brendel
Krystian Zimerman
Murray Perahia
Andras Schiff
Angela Hewitt
Garrick Ohlsson

There is no show - except in your mind, heart and your soul.

hmmm trying to remember...

No Doubt (about 10 times..always awesome)
Gwen Stefani, fun
Shania Twain (twice...super great show)
New Kids on the Block....twice....greatest moments of my life!
Paula Cole---boring
Kelly Clarkson---great show
The Wallflowers/Counting Crows---pretty decent show
Colbie Caillait(Whatever...she was boring..she doesn't deserve to have her name spelled correctly..we left after like 3 songs)

I'm sure there have been others...

ETA: Just remembered this after reading the other singer thread.....

Dolly Parton!!! She is amazing.

Morrissey
Oingo Boingo x4
U2 x3
Pink Floyd
Jimmy Buffett x too many to count
Rusted Root x5 or so
Jack Johnson
Dave Matthews x5 or so
Bruce Springsteen x3
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers x3
The Rolling Stones
John Cougar Mellencamp

Those are the ones that come to mind, but there have been more. I love live music. I was only disappointed by Morrissey, and I was 14 when I saw him. Jimmy Buffett is always amazing, Bruce Springteen blew me away (and my husband is the fan, not me), John C. Mellencamp was fantastic, Jack Johnson is so enjoyable, Rusted Root was a blast, Dave Mattthews never ceases to entertain me, and there was nothing better then Halloween at an Oingo Boingo show when I was in my teens.

My first two concerts when I was a teenager was with my mom. She took me to see Elvis Presley and Engelbert Humperdinck.
We were in the third row from the stage, at the Elvis concert, and I was so amazed to see so many women throwing their panties at him. Not my mom, thankfully! However, when we went to see Engelbert, we sat right by where he came out to get to the stage. My normally unflappable mother came unglued. She was screaming and hanging over the rail trying to touch him! So very out of character for her. I never saw her act that way ever again, but it kind of makes me wonder....

I went to see Billy Joel once. Mostly now, I go to see christian artists. Love love love Thousand Foot Crutch, and Jars of Clay, and
Kutless.

Too many to list...and most people on PS have probably never heard of almost all of them. As far as more well-known bands, I've seen:

Lady Gaga-best show of my life
Weezer-they don't put on great shows but I love the band
Willie Nelson-love him but the show was meh
Bob Dylan-TERRIBLE
Bruce Springsteen-awesome
New Kids on the Block (my first show!)-I remember it being awesome
Billy Bragg-fantastic show
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs-also fantastic

I feel like I've been to more concerts but this is what I could come up with. I love singer/songwriters most of all.

Tiffany and the New Kids on the Block (when I was younger)
Miami Sound Machine and New Kids on the Block (they opened for her, also again, when I was younger)
James Taylor
Livingston Taylor
Phil Collins
Peter Gabriel -- AWESOME
Billy Joel -- meh.
Guster -- fun!
BNL -- always a fun time! Seen 'em twice.
Madonna -- Great!
Prince -- AWESOME performer!
Sarah MacLachlan -- I've seen her twice and I LOVE her.
the Indigo Girls -- GREAT
K's Choice
Van Morrison -- Great artist, HORRIBLE performer when we saw him
Paul Simon
Butterfly Boucher
Coldplay
Jonatha Brooke (very talented! We got engaged after seeing her.)
Queen (I don't like the band but we went with friends who LOVE Queen.)
Peter, Paul, and Mary (when I was in high school -- went with family friends when my family visited them. Good but not my choice.)
the Whatnot -- FUN!
Marc Cohn -- GREAT!
Natalie Merchant -- AMAZING
Lori McKenna and Mark Erelli -- very, very good!
Trans-Siberian Orchestra

I love outdoor concerts, so I've been to so many I'm pretty sure I won't be able to remember them all. Here are the ones that come to mind right now:

DMB (awesome show)
The Smashing Pumpkins (I thought they were only okay, but DH would tell you they put on the best show he's ever seen. We saw different shows, by the way)
Jewel (a nice way to spend the evening)
Indigo Girls (amazing)
Paul Simon (amazing)
Simon & Garfunkel (amazing, though they didn't really put on a huge show, it was very subdued)
James Taylor (great)
The Rolling Stones (great)
Aerosmith (great)
Motley Crue (fun)
Run DMC (fun)
Kid Rock (so fun)
Blues Traveler (really great)
Rush (I'm not a huge fan, so hard to say)
John Mayer (good show, but he contorts his face so sit in the back)
Maroon 5 (good, though we felt like we were chaperoning the high school dance)
Guster (awesome, watch the drummer)
John Cougar Mellencamp (huge disappointment, we left early)
Collective Soul (good show, I hadn't listened to them much and I was impressed)
Journey (AWESOME SHOW! Probably my all-time favorite)
Nine Inch Nails (great show, tons of fun)

I saw Kelly Clarkson perform a very small show for only 50 people in the city, my friend won the tickets. I'm not a fan of hers, but it was just her and her guitar and she's really talented. I enjoyed it.

I've also seen a ton of bands at Summerfest in Milwaukee over the years, and many of them on small stages with small crowds before they were huge.

I've seen so many more, but I just can't think of them at the moment.

Ugh, let me see if I can remember. A lot are random country shows because my Granddad volunteers at a rodeo thing in the summer and always got the same seats.

Garth Brooks (I looooove)
Reba McEntire ( I love!)
Faith Hill
George Strait
Staind
Nickelback(I think...not something I like)
The blonde chick from Wings...she attempted country music.
The Judds (I love!)
The Dooby Brothers(I think)
Alan Jackson(possibly?)

Those are all the random ones that I can remember. I'm sure there's plenty of opening acts too.
For bands that sought out...

No Doubt(first "real" concert x2)
Sonic Youth(not into them much anymore, but the shows are REALLY great)
Ween (I looove, the last show I went to BF thought it was too long, but I was more than pleased they played longer than other bands)
Mirah
Vivian Girls
Flaming Lips
Quixotic
Zwan(the smashing pumpkins reference reminded me)
International Noise Conspiracy (at the time I really loved it)
Thao(I looooove)
Erin Mckweon(not impressed)
The Mountain Goats (okay)
Raining Jane
Matt & Kim(good show, it's been tainted with the memory of incredibly stinky/sweaty people)

I can't seem to remember anything beyond the last year...Although it's likely that I didn't see anything, nobody comes up here. OH I just remembered one or too.

I'm sad I didn't see Lady Gaga this year, nobody wanted to go with me though :(
I'm hoping that I'll be able to try and see Of Montreal in October, it will take some work but I know it would be AMAZING.

I haven't been to very many concerts, and the ones I have been to were in my teens:

Led Zepplin (one of the greatest rock groups of all time, what more is there to say)

Emerson, Lake and Palmer (another classic band, great show)

David Bowie (mid 70's, I wasn't really a fan, but this show turned me into one)

Grateful Dead (late 70's...very glad I had the opportunity to see them, great performance, but very long and I remember dozing for a bit)

Joe Jackson (early 80's, very lively fun performance)

Bruce Springsteen (a few summers ago...amazing performance, that man has so much energy, he didn't stop moving for 2 1/2 hours)

I'm lucky enough to have a huge venue about 10 minutes from me, and with lawn tickets $10 for residents we get to go to quite a few concerts.

The best ones lately have been:

DMB, always good
Stone Temple Pilots - I wasn't sure what to expect but they blew me away
Devo played at the same show as STP and were a ton of fun
Green Day this past week! fab

But the best recently was The Offspring. Saw them about two months ago. They only played an hour set, but by the time they left the stage I was hoarse and my legs were throbbing from jumping up and down so much. :appl:
