I know a lot of people on this forum had a background in gemology and jewelry BEFORE Pricescope, but is there anybody else who came upon this site and got hooked? I loved jewelry but had very little knowledge. After I got engaged I found this site and have learned SOOO much since. That's the main reason I adore PS. Of course the the eye candy is also a big factor :naughty:

Me! I can't even remember what I was googling 5 years ago that led me to this site! But I've been sucked in since finding it :rodent:

me! and definitely still learning every day.

I came upon PS in the spring of 2008, learned a LOT about diamonds and colored stones and jewelry (my BFF's husband's groomsman is a GIA diamond grader in NYC and he said I could do his job better than he can!), bought a LOT of colored stones and rings and such, and come full circle to the point where I have temporarily put a hold on my jewelry hobby in order to pursue another expensive hobby (skiing). I still love sparklies but I'm not quite as obsessed as I was before and part of it is my tastes have changed, grown, and gotten more expensive so until I get rich, I've stopped for the time being :) In the meantime I have met some truly amazing people on PS and become really close to quite a few, who have become my daily go-to people/close friends. However, much of our interaction now takes place off the site.

I have always loved jewelry, but I got to admit I didnt know good from bad, I knew I didnt like frozen spit or highly included diamonds, but since joining Pricescope I have learned the difference from badly cut diamonds to well cut diamonds. I never really appreciated colored stones till I clicked one day into the colored stone section and what I seen there made me go :lickout: so now I do appreciated colored stone and I want more of them lol I would love to take GIA courses and learn to appraise jewelry, but I doubt I ever will...I am just too old :nono:

I'm still not that into jewelry and don't see myself getting more than a pair of studs and an eternity ring in the future.

However, I'm definitely much more in tune with my style now than I was before! I wish I had read this site and looked at the pictures before I had my ring designed since I still love the basic style, but would've been more specific on the details. I'm confident now that when I go to buy studs or another piece that I'll be able to easily pick out something I'll love forever. If I had picked out studs or something before PS I'm sure I would've ended up with something icky.
