I won't wear mine when working, because in my line of work a large diamond would make an unhelpful impression on my clients.

I wear it all day at home but I take it off for heavy-duty work around the house.
I took it off when a stranger came to my house to buy a used car.
Actually whenever I'm in my house dealing with strangers, like answering the door, or things like visits from plumbers, I take it off or spin it around so the rock is not visible.
They know where I live.

Out in public I almost always wear it to enjoy it since I'm almost never in a place where I feel unsafe.

I never wear my ring around the house or any jewelry for that matter. I don''t wear it when working on projects ( I refinish furniture and DH and I do small remodeling projects for the families). I don''t wear it when doing outdoorsy things like hiking, fishing, hunting, etc.

I wear it most of the time when I''m out and about.

running. working out. I take them off when I''m at the house... cooking and cleaning, and taking care of/playing with dogs... Gets them all YUK!

I don''t normally wear my rings in the house when I know I have a lot of things to do, with the kids and housework and cooking, they would get too abused. I do sometimes put them back on when I am sitting down and reading or studying.

I do wear them all the time when I go out, except when I drop off/pick up my daughter from the bus stop, unless I just came from somewhere and already had them on.

I usually look horrible in the mornings when i drop off my daughter, although some of the other mothers are all dressed up and wearing everything, it''s just too early in the morning for me to get myself together.

I wear mine all day at work, when out with friends, family etc. I don''t wear them:

At home. I tend to take my jewelry off as soon as I hit the door. I also change into comfy clothes when I get home. The only time I don''t wear it when I go out is if I am going to do something grubby, or if I''m REALLY dressed down I usually just wear my wedding band stacked with a plain bamd.

I leave my rings home on vacations and wear a plain band.

Kenny - what line of work are you in?

Re: when not wearing. . .for me it''s when doing housework or gardening. Usually I only wear diamond studs and my wedding set. About 3x per week, I wear one of my diamond pendants. Now that it''s getting colder, I don''t wear them very much because of concern that they may tangle up with my scarves.

I always wear my studs and e-ring even if I''m running, swimming, sleeping etc. I think I will probably leave my ering at home when we''re on our honeymoon so I don''t lose it in the ocean.

MC, I'd prefer to not say what my field of work is.

But it is a field that is highly paid and clients are frequently not informed about all of the education required and why is it a highly specialized field.
99% of the time our clients have no clue about what we do but they have to make judgements on us.
So they base their impression of us on the strangest things.
These judgements, often unfair, determine whether they will hire us again in the future.

Hence the desire to not appear as though I am overpaid.

I don''t wear my diamond to the gym, to bed, in the pool or ocean, in the kitchen when I''m cooking or baking, or in the shower.
I pretty much wear it everywhere else.

I don''t wear mine when I bathe or shower. I do wear it to do just about everything else and I sleep with it on. I actually feel much safer with it on my hand than anywhere else, oddly enough.

I feel mine is safest on my hand too.

In fact, even though I'm a scientific kind of guy, I just like to believe that my diamond gives me magical powers or protects me from harm or something.

I never wear it in the house. As soon as I get home it goes on my ring holder.

I always wear mine. Mine is not a huge rock though (centre stone is .33 carats) so no fear of it being too flashy or in the way.

Ditto :)

Hiking, working out, basically any outdoor activity. Cleaning, so on. It basically comes off when I get home, but goes on for anything non-active outside the house.

Working out
Pool or alike [sunscreen]
In the home, always doing something toxic

Baking [5 hour shift 3x week from Sept/Jan]

Kenny --

People are strange. They form opinions on some of the oddest things. Sorry you can''t wear your ring at work.

I don't wear my ring when I'm...
doing at-home projects (carving pumpkins - which I did yesterday

though on wkds, i tend to just wear my wedding band unless we are going out somewhere. it is just lighter.

I don''t wear mine when

Sleeping

Showering

Working out

Just lazing around the house.

If I leave the house though (unless it is to work out), I wear it.

I don''t wear my jewlery while at home, cooking or cleaning (in general), working out, sleeping and while on vacation, especially if travelling out of the country.

If I''m at home, I don''t wear my rings in the shower (they hang out in cleaning solution ''til I get dressed). I wear them doing everything else.

If I''m away from home, I wear them constantly. If I''m going out of the country, I leave my e-ring in the safe deposit box, but I do wear my diamond wedding band all the time.

I don''t wear mine when I''m cooking, cleaning, showering, swimming, or sleeping. Oh, and I don''t wear it to the beach. I wear it if I''m just hanging around the house because I like to look at it lol. I always wear it when I go out.

I just started working in a So-So neighborhood in Brooklyn, I didn''t wear my diamond rings for the first few weeks until I realized everyone else did. Once I felt comfortable in the neighborhood I started wearing them. So far so good!

I don''t wear my rings while showering or doing housework (e.g., washing dishes, cleaning, laundry). I will wear my rings to the gym but not when I''m lifting weights or boxing.
Seems like we''re all pretty attached to our diamonds!

When I go to concerts in seedy areas. Otherwise, it''s always on.

I don''t wear it in the shower or when doing dishes.

I mostly wear it everywhere else, except for... well.. buying things in certain situations.

And the next person that says, "Awww he must really love you!" is going to get decked. Or walked out on.

Shower and that''s it, although when I go back to the US and apply/interview for jobs I probably will not wear it on the interviews. I don''t need assumptions made, especially ones that could work against me.

I wear my ring everywhere! The only time I take it off is to do dishes/cleaning & showering.
I don''t feel uncomfortable wearing my ring anywhere... Everyone probably think its a Topaz, so...lol

That''s too bad you have to hide things. Dh and I aren''t quit so bad, but we just bought a boat and are only telling some friends, you know? People do improperly perceive things. Actually, you know, we pretend we have less money than we do have and I rarely wear my diamonds for school functions. (Not to say were rich, by any means, but we downplay what we do have.) I am kind of sick of that, though, and have been buying up clothes like a storm over the last few weeks
