It went to a very nice young man, and I'm pretty sure it was fate 
I just wanted to provide an update so I didn't leave anyone who may be interested hanging. For reference, I'm talking about my 2.7ct craigslist diamond: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/were-engaged.124698/
Back to the story...
As I mentioned in a few threads a couple years back and recently, the K/L color drove me mad. And as much as I tried to love it, I just couldn't. So I sold it (via CL) to this wonderful young man, who wanted to propose to his sweetheart. He drove 4hrs just to see my ring and bought it the same day. We got exaclty what we had paid for it.
As soon as that diamond was out of my posession, I felt a weight had been lifted. Oh the stress it had caused me! Agonizing about color, etc. But when all of my concerns about the diamond subsided, I noticed something still didn't feel quite right. We didn't replace the ring with anything, and after a few months, I broke off the engagement. He was a very good man, we just weren't meant to be together forever. It was like someone had finally hit the "Play" button on life, and at that time, I took a considerable break from PS.
Despite the ever-climbing diamond prices, I still have no regrets about selling that diamond. It was gorgeous, but like my Ex, it just wasn't the one for me. Parting with it, gave me a freedom and perception about my life I didn't have before. I have more appreciation for that experience, than I did for the diamond - no matter how fabulous it was
