I want something totally different ! I''m only sending out about 40 so i can splurge

Blissful - You should try looking on yelp for invitation designers. If you want something totally different, your best bet would be someone who designs and prints custom invitations. Since your budget allows for you to splurge, you can have a lot of fun with this!

I ended up with these, but with a Green background, brown handmade paper layer, and cream sheer on top. Brown lettering, and they put a palm frond on there for me too, in green LOL! The sky is the limit.

Check out Etsy.com. It''s a website for artists. Since they''re all small companies a lot of them will do minimal orders and charge per invitation vs for bulk. So you can get 41 invitations if you needed them instead of ordering a full 50. I also like the idea of supporting small businesses and artists.

Some of my faves are Twig & Fig, Dauphine, Vera Wang, and (super pricey) Cartier.

We got ours from Momental Designs and LOVED them! Kristy Rice is a pleasure to work with, her designs are lovely, and you pay per set, so she''ll do whatever number you need, even if it''s a funny one.

Yep, another vote for Kristy! In fact, I decided to check out her invitations after reading ljsmith001's thread about Momental Designs - both Doodle and Sarahlovesjs had used Kristy's services and raved about the quality of her work. Well, I can't even begin to tell you how blown away I was by her creations. Blissfull, I'm in the same boat as you - FI and I only need a small number of invites (approx 20-30 - still trying to figure this out) and felt this was an area we wanted and could afford to splurge in so we're having Kristy custom design our invites and announcements etc. I'm hoping to have a sample in the next week or so. Definitely check out her website. Let us know what you decide.

P.S. I saw your Say Yes to the Dress episode again last Friday - honestly how cute are you and your mom?! Your mom seriously had me in stiches AGAIN

ETA: Looks like Sarah beat me to the "ditto" of Doodle's post

We used MyPersonalArtist. Michelle was great and worked with us because we had a rush order. She appears to do a lot of tropical/desitnation themed invitations, but maybe some of them can be used for an in-town wedding as well.

While I have yet to post my invitations...here were my two dream invitation designers:

Blue Magpie Invitations I sew and design, but really, I just love fabric! I loved these invitations...but they were definitely out of my price range.

The Lettered Olive These invitations are just gorgeous! I especially loved the Lauren and Megan custom invites.

I''m not sure how much you want to splurge, but I''m in love with about 20 invitations at CeciNewyork.com
