I'm pretty sure this is a date code.
It's on the inside of a metal part of a guitar pedal.

Note there are 12 spaces around the circle, probably for the months.

I suspect I can guess but I'm asking for your ideas.

What other info is on the pedal? full picture?
It looks more like a casting code than a date code but it could be either one.

Looks like the date code on auto parts -- like the back of my license plate holder that just fell off. Apr 2002. Or maybe Apr 1902 if they're really old drums =)2. I'm guessing Jan is the lowermost dot although that's not where I would start.

Karl, you've hit the nail on the head ... (without smashing your finger. :lol-2: )

Another pedal has a stamp like this indicating that part of the pedal was cast Feb of 2004.
But a website (that lists SN vs manufacture date) says that pedal was made several months later.

Mystery solved.
Thanks Karl.

So it's a date when a part was made and not the whole thing?

I'm missing the revelation, I think :cool2:.

Reading it as a casting code its version 02 revision 4, part # 03 or mold set 03 I have seen it both ways.

Thanks.
Good to know.

Two things I really I admire are expertise and experience.

Since the circle is chopped up into exactly 12 parts, I think in this case the odds are they represents the 12 months of the year, not revisions.

In this case the whole thing is a guitar pedal, which consists of many parts.
One part is the metal base; that's what had this code thingie in the pic above.

A manufacturer orders many parts, which were each made whenever they were made.
Then manufacturer assembles all the parts to make a pedal - which must be some time after each the parts were made.
