Sorry, I like those commercials because DH could so be one of the vikings.

Anyway...I dumped my purse out today on a freshly sanitized surface, to sanitize all my stuff. Cards out of wallet, etc. I have a bigass bag (Dylan Zip Tote by Linea Pelle...it's a BIGGIN) and the main compartment has my wallet (equally gigantic), my ring box pouch, my phone, sunglasses I rarely wear....and earbuds. The front big compartment has my walking Walgreens. I don't know how I have seriously amassed that much crap in that section. But when I got done reloading most of it, I realized I really need to sit down and figure out what I really NEED in that section, because in a few weeks my new bag (Dylan Medium Tote also by Linea Pelle, not as big and only one big section vs 3!) will arrive, and I need to pare alllll that into ONE zip pouch so I don't have a ton of crap floating around in there. Which...will not be easy...

So whatcha got in your wall...er...bag?

In the ring box pouch.

I travel lightly.

Driver's license
1 credit card
A little cash
Health Insurance card

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

Holy moly, Ame! That is a lot of stuff!

I carry a smallish leather bag that I bought in Bruges last summer. Okay, digging inside . . . I have:

IN THE MAIN COMPARTMENT
- A small notebook and my favorite writing pen. You never know when an idea is going to hit. Or a good book rec.
- One wallet (from Vera Bradley, large-ish, if you ask me)
- A pack of Eclipse mints
- A digital camera

IN THE ZIPPY POCKET
- A just-in-case feminine product
- A jewelry polishing cloth (SEE! I'm a good PSer.)
- Ring pouch in case I need to take off my rings
- A cleaning cloth for my glasses

IN THE INSIDE NO-ZIPPY POCKET
- Face powder
- Another pen

IN THE OUTSIDE POCKET
- Cell phone
- Aquaphor
- Lipstick
- Lip gloss

HOLY MOLY! I have a lot of stuff in my purse! It looks so small. I had no idea I carried all this stuff around. But my purse looks so small. Maybe I'm Mary Poppins?

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

I knew my "main" compartment contents, it's the one with all the damn pouches that got me. And I didn't even empty out the zippy pouches.

This is why I stay away from very large purses with lots of pockets. I always find myself carrying around an extra five pounds of items I NEVER need or use! It's like I'm subconsciously stashing them away for the winter or something . . .

But seriously, I can't believe how much stuff I carry around on a regular basis. But to be honest, there's nothing I really want to take out!

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

Fun thread!

I carry a wristlet while running errands or doing whatever outside of work. It contains, on a daily basis:
phone
lip gloss
cash (bills and coins)
debit card
driver's license
insurance cards

I haul around a large tote/backpack to and from work (or occasionally other places) which contains:
laptop
file folder with personal paperwork
file folder with work paperwork
two re-useable totes that fold into themselves quite compactly
mini hairbrush
less than $5 cash
32 oz. Nalgene bottle
vitamins, Tylenol, etc. in one small pill bottle
sunglasses
various storage containers holding my lunch items
gloves leftover from the nonexistent winter
a Bounce dryer sheet
business cards--mine and everyone else's, stuffed into an outer pocket
usually a pair of flip flops or flat shoes
kleenex
Wet Ones wipes travel pack
keys

"What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURSE)

Part of my reasoning for the large bag is that I carry the folder/notebook, sometimes a MacBook, paper swatches and other bits and bobs in it for a consultation so that my tote with all my samples and some configuration materials isn't bogged down with more stuff.

Its also usually my carryon as well.

That and I often carry a magazine or something to and from work. And snacks sometimes that I want to conceal lol! I used to have one of those nylon totes that rolled into itself and a small umbrella but I don't know where the bag is and the umbrella I just leave in the car and one in my desk now.

I have no idea why I started in with the big bags but even when I had NOTHING but my keys and cellphone and replacement ID after the robbery I had a new big bag to carry those tiny items in. My dad calls it "her royal highness' matched luggage"

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

Haha the curse of the big bags! I need to carry a large one that fits my macbook as well. (LV Lockit Horizontal). But I purposely chose one without all the nooks and crannies to hide things in, or I'd be stashing my old Walgreens!

I currently have:
- 2 small ziplock baggies with a button in each that I pulled off of new clothing
- 8 individually wrapped alcohol wipes
- 9 pens :!: yikes! and 2 pencils. 1 "pen"-styled eraser.
- travel sized kleenex that's down to the last few tissues. Thanks for making me do this-- I'm refilling!
- A planner
- my car keys
- my Coach zip up wristlet. I use this as an alternative for a wallet, so that all my coins can fit. I'm the crazy lady counting exact change all the time!

Wow, not too bad. But I seem to be a pen hoarder.. I keep taking pens everywhere I go. Pen thief. :errrr:

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

Sanitize your purse??

I've heard of dumping it, clearing pockets, and I've even vacuumed the inner liner. But sanitize? Well, whatever.

Wallet w/ checkbook
Pen
Makeup bag
Keys
Contact lens solution
Hair pick
Reading glasses
Episcopal rosary currently residing in a side pocket. I don't know why.

And when I'm really organized, I'll remember to carry these, too:

Nail file
Nail clippers
Kleenex
Trial size hairspray
Wet wipes

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

I have this type of bag but mine is a solid color. http://www.etsy.com/listing/66944834/ipad-case-ipad-sleeve-zipper-cover-ipad
Apparently the woman who sells these bags isn't marketing any of her bags as simply cross body bags anymore. They're all listed as iPad cases and sleeves.

Anyway, I don't like carrying a purse, so this holds the essentials like my wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, medicine, pens, and a checkbook, which is good enough most of the time. I also have a few messenger bags if I need something bigger to include a book and water bottle.

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

driver license and various other cards, a brush, several kleenex and chapstick, I carry a very small purse, I hate carrying one at all, but I do need somewhere to put stuff, so I carry a purse once in awhile.

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

I seem to pick up bits and pieces and they sit there for months before I chuck them out. Right now, I have:

sunnies/case
Charlaine Harris book
cinnamon altoids (yum, got them at the Americano/British lolly shop last weekend)
wallet
New York Cheesecake hand lotion
my work lanyard/access card
cocoa lip butter
butter menthols (sore throat this week)
ticket stubs from Mark Twain Cave (when we were there last June!)
a receipt from a pet store (4 bags of litter, 18 kilos of Royal Canin dog food)
a CD. I have no idea what's on it, it's a burned one with no writing on it or the case.
a brush
a packet of Big Red
lip gloss
a McDonald's receipt from Jan 31
soft lips
a stub from having photos developed (yes...real film!)
pink lemonade Lip Smackers (so this is where all my chap stick goes!)
a Missouri key chain that is supposed to be on my luggage (it's my identifying marker) - no clue how it got in here!
a spare digital camera battery
my free Brian Gavin Diamonds pin
a voucher for a restaurant (bonus for doing unexpected overtime)
my expired passport
a Christmas tree ornament (from a Bed and Breakfast we stayed at last year!)
2 bobby pins
eye drops
Carmex (MORE lip stuff!)
and a tampon

GREAT thread, got me to clean out my purse! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

Oh...and a SOCK. One clean white sock. It reeks of my cat, Leta - she likes to get toys and then put them in either my shoe or my purse. The she pretends to find them, and acts all surprised. It's hilarious to watch. "Oh goodness, how did THAT get there?! What a discovery!" :o

Btw, this is what my bag contains 'at rest' - if I got out for the day with DD it generally has a bottle of water, snacks, sippy cup and assorted drawing pads/toys added. I am like a pack mule!

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

Most days, I don't carry a bag, but my coat pockets will have my debit card, migraine tablets and phone.

If I do have a bag, it will have my debit card, migraine tablets and a phone in it.

eta unless I'm travelling, at which point it would be quicker to list the stuff it doesn't have in it. I am a nervous packer, can't ever quite believe I'm going to find the things I need / want if I'm away from home. I mean, if you go to NYC, there isn't anywhere to buy Cadbury's. At home, I eat Cadbury's chocolate maybe five or six times a year, but a 6 day trip to NYC necessitated carrying 7 (seven) family sized bars (or as I prefer to think of them, fun sized, because chocolate I need both hands to lift is more fun to me than any mini version).

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

In my purse, main section:

wallet
Coach calendar - I prefer to write it down as opposed to using my iPhone
umbrella
sunglasses/case
tiny black zip around case with hand sanitizer, band-aid, tampon, safety pins, all just in case

small pocket:

purse hanger (so I don't have to set it on the dirty ground in restaurants, etc.)
loupe
pen
2 jump drives

I think that's it. I just went through a major purse clean-out when we switched from winter to spring, so mine is pretty light right now.

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

I carry a tote with a wristlet inside.

In the tote:
Platypus collapsible water bottle
mini umbrella
earbuds
folder with various papers
iPad
two types of iPad styli
feminine supplies
hand lotion
assortment of lip gloss/balm/stick
Canon G11
tiny leather notepad
personal and business calling cards
headband
hair ties
pens/pencils
advil
sunglasses and sunglass case
eyeglasses and eyeglass case
usually a few snacks (cut apples, yogurt, apple sauce, crackers, granola, etc)
at times, flats/flip flops

In wristlet,
2 credit cards, 1 drivers license, 1 work ID card, 1 debit card. Also, cell phone, lipgloss.

Totally agree re 'fun size' - the mini things are 'con size' as far as I'm concerned.

Well, I do it every month anyway, just because you never know what has been on the chair you just set it on when you can't use a purse hook or on the plane floor/seat/carryon bin...but since I am getting over pertussis which is ridiculously contagious and the doctor said that me actually getting it means there's always a chance I could get it again....Im going to step up the game! I sanitized the heck out of it. I even checked with the company to make sure I could chuck it in the drier for 20 minutes on the anti-bacterial setting to kill anything that was left and they said people actually throw the bags in the washer and drier! Weird. I didn't go that far. Anyway...I sanitized it just as precaution. I did a lot of sanitizing in my house, car and my actual office at work just to try to prevent some reinfection. I have washed and changed sheets every day now for the last week trying to make sure those aren't reinfected.

Thank you!!! It's my favorite! I am super excited to get it's baby sister here in a few weeks. I had it in Gray and sold it to my friend L because I didn't use it as much as I thought I would!
*waves since I know she's reading!*

LOL you and I share that mentality. Unless I go to a British shop here, I can't get "real cadbury" and the US Hersheys version is NOT the same as the real thing! Used to at World Market but the one nearest my house is gone, and the other one is in a plaza I'd sooner kill myself than go try to park in.

But that fear of things that I won't be able to just go in walgreens/cvs/target to obtain in a pinch is probably why I have so much crap in that front section!

I also have two coach swingpacks, well one is coach, one is something cotton canvas I got from Target for $2 like 10 years ago that I use when I need a slightly bigger swingpack (those are used usually only for sporting events/bar nights where I am the driver when all my friends drink) where I have a very miniature version of my big green wallet, that holds a credit card, ID, some cash and my insurance card, plus my keys and cell.

Well, she does have a backpack which she loves to carry around, but really, she doesn't need stuff. Now she's out of nappies and able to use normal sized cutlery and crockery, she just doesn't need anything special to go out with. Hang in there, you're only a few months away from relative freedom from all that stuff. ;)) When she was smaller, it was whatever could fit into the various pockets of the stroller /a mid-sized Chloe purse. I don't care to lug stuff around with me, so I only took the bare minimum.

Re: "What's in YOUR Wallet!?" (Actually, what's in your PURS

Ame, are you fond of Cadbury's? I can leave it alone almost all of the time, but when I fall.... I fall into it face first and stay there for a longish time...
